Hello there!
My name is Abdellatif, and I am from Morocco's "happy valley," nestled in the High Atlas mountains. Growing up, my love for exploration and travel inspired me to venture beyond my home and see what the world had to offer. After pursuing my degree in tourism, I was eager to use my skills and knowledge to provide travelers with unique and authentic experiences.
In my work as a travel specialist, I strive to go beyond just offering standard tours and activities. Instead, I aim to show my guests the real Morocco, from its vibrant culture and traditions to its stunning natural beauty. By immersing travelers in the local way of life and sharing lesser-known gems, I hope to offer a more personal and meaningful experience that will leave a lasting impression. So if you're ready to embark on an adventure that will take you beyond the usual tourist hotspots, I'm here to help you discover the heart and soul of Morocco!
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"We offer diverse and authentic tours in Morocco's most iconic locations, including the Atlas Mountains, historical sites, imperial cities, and the Sahara desert. Our experiences range from camel rides to 4WD tours and visits to coastal cities, showcasing the country's unique blend of old and new. Our local experiences provide an immersive understanding of Moroccan culture, allowing travelers to truly connect with the country."
How did you get involved in travel?
"As a travel enthusiast, becoming a tour guide was always my dream job. After completing my degree in civil engineering in 2018, I pursued my passion and earned my license as an official tour guide through the national exam. I began leading groups across Morocco, from the Atlas Mountains and Sahara desert to popular cities like Tangier, Chefchaoeun, Fez, Rabat, and Marrakech. Now, I'm thrilled to continue sharing my expertise and passion as a travel specialist for Kimkim, helping adventurers from around the world discover the wonders of this kingdom of lights and colors."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"In 2019, I had the privilege of leading a group of travelers on a 10-day journey through Morocco. On the 4th day of the trip, we were welcomed by a kind and hospitable Amazigh family who, despite having very little, were eager to share all they had with us. Despite the language barrier, we shared laughter and warm moments, creating unforgettable memories.
My group was so moved by this experience that we decided to change our itinerary and stay for multiple nights in the village. We offered our resources and energy to help restore the local classrooms and provide warm clothes for the children in preparation for the winter months. This experience will always hold a special place in my heart as it reminded me of the incredible kindness and generosity of people we encounter while traveling.
It is through travel that we have the opportunity to see the world in a different light and make a positive impact on the lives of others. For me, this experience was a testament to the power of travel to not only broaden our horizons but also bring us closer to one another in meaningful ways."

Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche
Casablanca
This is not a five star hotel. It is currently under renovation/construction and should be avoided at all costs. I would also not recommend this location for African or African American and non-Arab non-European presenting travelers.
This is a lovely hotel with amazing views and helpful courteous staff. The breakfast is also delicious and the rooms are nice. Things to be mindful of, this is a dry hotel, so there is no bar. There are a lot of stairs and so no appropriate for folks who cannot climb several flights of stairs.
Cleanliness & Comfort
The stairs are an issue if you have knee problems/mobility issues.
Great room. It is out of the city but if you want a modern place with a lovely rooftop then this is a good choice. The pool area is lovely. The bar was closed due to Eid but is supposed to be great. Room was very clean and modern. This is a good choice if you need a break from staying inside the Medinas or Riads.
Desert Luxury Camp Erg Chebbi
Merzouga
Excellent experience with great hosts. The camp was beautiful and had a pool (must have for the summer) the workers did a great job of arranging food, drinks and generally making us feel safe and entertained.
Nice place with friendly staff. Also has a good pool.
Heure Bleue Palais - Relais & Châteaux
Essaouira
Nice hotel but it is a bit old. There is a damp smell in rooms.

Douar Aït Ouffi
The food here is amazing. We ate here twice!
In terms of the rooms it really depends on which room you got assigned to. The first room we were assigned to was super small and not sound proof, but the second room was super big and nice and quiet.
Orient Desert Camp
Merzouga
The hotel went above and beyond to make our experience great. They even organized a sand bread making experience for us and that was unforgettable.
The room is exactly as pictured. You get toilet with flush and shower right in your desert tent.
Note: There is no air con in this camp so it’s probably not the best spot for summer.

I enjoyed the free time given to us to walk around the by the water but honestly Casablanca is a bit lacking as a city and our driver didn’t know much about the city.

Unlock the Secrets of Fes: A Full-Day Guided Sightseeing Experience
Fes
We don’t like Fes, it’s the only city we felt unsafe in. Someone tried to scam us to led us somewhere weird and someone else chased us and a couple other people with a dog.
If you have to skip a city skip this one.
The tour guide himself was fine. He brought us to various places and often times he just leave us at each location to explore on our own. I love pottery but the coop we went to made mediocre work. I have seen much better artisans else where.
Transportation wise, the driver leaves you at the edge of old city and you have to make the rest of the way yourself which wasn’t that pleasant to be honest.

Attend the Festival "Moussem" of Roses in Qelaat Mgouna
Morocco
This is one of those experience that wasn’t exactly fun per se but it was interesting enough because it was such a local experience (1% tourist and 99% local).
There were so many people we couldn’t get a good spot for the parade so we just watched from afar. The parade was simple and short but it’s fun looking at the crowd and it was cool to see so many women and children out and about.
We also went to a rose product store that is much loved by the locals - the price was definitely local price because all the locals were doing shopping sprees there for rose products.
I also got to join a line dance with some local dancers so that was cool too.

Some people may ask why you want to visit a Roman ruin when you can just go to Italy, but if you enjoy history I think it’s worth coming here as it’s the southern reach of the Roman Empire and it’s a bit different than what you see in Rome yet familiar at the same time. In Italy the nice ruins are all quite busy and you can’t get close to things. Here it was so quiet and peaceful and you can walk anywhere you want.

I liked the building but the tour was a bit lacking. Large group tour + not that much info given.

Horseback Riding on the Captivating Beach of Essaouira
Essaouira
I have ridden horses all over the world but this is the first time I felt really bad for the horses and a bit unsafe riding.
1. The horses don’t get breaks between rides so they are super tired and irritable.
2. One of the horses we rode on was sick and sneezing the whole time.
3. Because the horses are tired and irritable one of them was constantly aggravating other horses. One of our horses almost went into a fight and the horse it almost fought with then went ahead and fought another horse and the two bucked off their riders
4. Usually you are supposed to take off saddle after a ride but of course since there’s no breaks for the poor horses the saddles stay on

They don’t speak English. Also the horses are mistreated.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Morocco. My driver was always punctual and friendly. He was informative as well. The Riad in Chefchaouen was not a five star as advertised and it was noisy late into the evening. I thoroughly enjoyed Fes and the guide was informative and engaging. The evening with the Moroccan family was very nice and the Riad was outstanding. Truly a five star and I would stay there again. I enjoyed the La Tour Palace hotel in Rabat. I did not see what I was expecting to see in Rabat but I did get to the mausoleum and that was special.

Reda was excellent very kind, respectful, appropriate and a good driver ❤️ him!
We understood we had a guide but he was more a driver and couldn’t come in to the ferry terminal to pick us up, that was very confusing for us another guide helped us. We love the camping trip & Marrakesh.
