Liz Chreist

My favorite definition is-
Travel (travel-ǝl)-noun- The only thing you buy that makes you richer.

I have had the privilege of traveling to many countries around the world. Traveling close to the earth has provided me a window into different walks of life. I crave interacting with locals and experiencing all a region offers. I always take the time to stroll through remote villages or big cities to get a feel for what the environment offers. I love to explore historical castles, reach the peak of the tallest mountains, and let the ocean lap against my feet.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"France, England, and Scotland offer some of the most diverse landscapes and cultural experiences in Europe — from iconic cities and dramatic coastlines to rolling countryside, ancient castles, and world‑class culinary traditions. My specialty is creating seamless, immersive itineraries that help travelers experience the best of these regions with comfort, authenticity, and ease.

In France, travelers can explore Paris’s timeless architecture, charming villages, sun‑drenched wine regions, and breathtaking coastlines.
In England, history and modern culture blend beautifully — from London’s energy to the Cotswolds’ pastoral charm and the rugged cliffs of Cornwall.
In Scotland, dramatic scenery takes center stage: misty lochs, medieval strongholds, the Isle of Skye’s otherworldly landscapes, and vibrant cities like Edinburgh and Inverness.

I love the connection between these countries — intertwined histories, distinct identities, and unforgettable experiences. Designing trips across France, England, and Scotland allows travelers to appreciate the contrasts and the harmony between them. How lucky am I to help bring these journeys to life?"

How did you get involved in travel?

"I became hooked on travel at a very young age. Road trips around the USA were my first taste of exploration, and that was the gateway to wanting to see more of the world. I moved to New Zealand and drove on every road on the South Island. From there, Europe's topography drew me in, and it's history, culture, and architecture provided ways to connect with the location and people. I didn't realize that feeling in my heart would become necessary and even addictive throughout my life. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"I will never forget the first time I visited Paris. It was so important to me to see the city lights at night and the city's vast expanse during the day. The city kept pulling us in directions we couldn't resist going. By the end of the first day, we had walked 17 miles exploring all we could, and there was still so much more to see. It's the city that just keeps giving. Packing hint- bring 2 pairs of walking shoes so you can alternate them to give your feet a rest day after day. "

There were a number of changes in the original trip plans before we left. The Montparnasse
Tower closed for renovation. The Catacombs closed, cancelled all tickets and reopened,
with the possibility of getting a few tickets during the week before arrival. Notre Dame
stopped allowing guided tours inside about a week before we left. The cathedral was still
open to the public, so our tour was changed to the history of Notre Dame and the surrounding
area. Susan and some of her friends are Disneyland fans. We decided on a visit, and she
asked for specific times, tickets, etc., which KimKim arranged for us.

All pickups and transfers went well. Drivers were on time and helpful. Vehicles were the appropriate size for 5 people and luggage. This included CDG Airport to hotel, Disneyland
dropoff (8:30 a.m.) and pickup (11 p.m.), hotel to Gare Lyon, Nice Ville train station to hotel,
and hotel to Nice Airport. [Greg was our driver both times in Nice, and he was very pleasant and
helpful.]

Citadines Trocadéro Paris
Paris

Hotel Citadines Trocadero: good location*, good rooms for family group, reasonable kitchen, rather odd bathroom with tiny shower. Toilet in separate room and bathtub were okay. The staff were minimally helpful. There is a large, locked closet in the lobby to hold luggage. A self-serve laundry is onsite. The laundry app works well until you have problems or questions; then, nobody can help you. The dryer didn’t dry very well. We did not have breakfast there. It seemed to be a continental breakfast.

Palace of Versailles Day Trip with Priority Access – Half-Day Tour
Palace of Versailles Day Trip with Priority Access – Half-Day Tour
Paris

Versailles, half-day tour of palace and gardens. We enjoyed seeing the palace and would have liked time to actually see the gardens. This was the part of the trip we enjoyed least. The heatwave didn’t help matters. Versailles is some distance from town. We tried hard to figure out walking, Metro, bus, etc. The only simple way to get there and to get back for an afternoon activity is by Uber. The process for sorting out groups of tourists and guides is rather disorganized. This was the first time we ever used the headphones / earbuds and device to hear the tour guide. It seems to be the most reasonable way of having multiple guides and groups of people to communicate with. However, we weren’t very happy with our guide (Leonor) or the tour. We arrived on time for a tour time which was an hour later. It was rather hard to stay with the group with so many other people there. We didn’t find the commentary very informative. After several hours, we were shown the gardens outside (through a window) and told that we had tickets to the gardens but that part of the tour was on our own. In retrospect, we think this should actually be marketed as a day-long tour with a guide in the morning and on your own in the afternoon, with the expectation of eating at the palace. There is a nice restaurant which was very crowded, a café with good food but very little seating space, and a small snack shop we noticed on our way out. Also, bathrooms are very hard to find once you are outside. Versailles 4 stars, guide maybe 3.

The final activity for the day was an Eiffel Tower summit at sunset. Our hotel wasn’t far from the tower and we walked. It took a little effort to find the meeting point. The guide for this event was more of a shepherd. He made sure everyone got tickets, got in line, knew about the security check, understood how and where to go in the tower. Everything went very well, despite some misgivings about being “way up in the air.” The views were spectacular. A 5- star experience.

Monaco, Monte Carlo & Eze Morning Excursion

We walked to meet our driver / guide Sebastian for a Monaco, Monte Carlo, Eze morning excursion. (Not sure why it is advertised this way, since you go to Eze first, then Monaco and Monte Carlo.) Seb was surprised that he had more people booked for the van than usual, but it was summer high season. He told us about history of the area and current celebrities who lived there. We had stops to see the views. It was very hot that day and the many steps in old Eze were a bit much. We arrived in Monaco in time for the changing of the guard, which is very hard to see when there is a crowd. Our family left the group at this point, since the children couldn’t go inside the casino, and we were interested in seeing the Oceanographic Museum. Unfortunately, the museum was very hot and crowded. However, Elizabeth wants to be a scientist and created her own project of taking photos and viewing the exhibits. Tour: 4 stars, museum: 3 stars Since we didn’t continue with the tour, we had to make our own way back to Nice. I had a Rick Steeves map and pocket guide which were somewhat helpful. The bus to the train station is no longer free and it was a rather long, uncomfortable ride. We managed to figure out the train and get through the crowds and back to Nice.

The grounds and pool were great to run the toddler, but the serene atmosphere did not fit her rambunctious nature. Hotel de La Plage's parking situation is odd. Their private parking was fully booked when we were there. We ended up parking in the public lot next door, but we waited in line for 15 minutes to wait for somebody to exit so we could enter. The lot was typically full by 9 am. It didn't turn out to be too big of an issue, it was unexpected.

Personally recommended by Liz and we get the hype! It's quaint, the host is personable, it's the perfect place to get an authentic taste of Provencal life. Dinners were lovely, the pool was a welcome break after our morning activities, and the team is so kind. A couple of things to note-we felt that our stay was uncomfortable due to the heat and mosquitoes. Our room on the top floor stayed warm throughout our stay and we were hesitant to open our window for better ventilation as there are lots of mosquitoes outside. We did mention this to the host, but nothing was done to address it, so we just adjusted for our 3-night stay. At other times of the year we can see how this would be the perfect stay, but during the summer it's a little tough. We also felt some of the pricing wasn't the most transparent. Although there is a sign by the front desk outlining cost of dinners, snacks, wine, etc., we noticed that when we requested a glass of wine during meals, we were poured very large pours that ultimately cost us the entire bottle (even if we weren't interested in this much). Just small things that gave us pause.

Dear Bob and Gae,

Thank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful reflection on your trip to the Riviera. It was a pleasure to help you plan this getaway, and I’m delighted to hear how smooth and enjoyable your experience was from the moment you arrived to your final departure.

I’m so glad you felt comfortable at Hotel Suisse and enjoyed the cozy room, breakfast, and service — it’s a lovely property with a wonderful location, and it’s great to know it suited your stay so well.

Your kind words about Pierire, Fred, and Oceanana mean a great deal. They each take tremendous pride in sharing the Riviera with visitors, and I’m thrilled to hear how personable, knowledgeable, and friendly they were throughout your travels. Knowing they helped make each day fun and memorable is truly wonderful.

It sounds like you had such beautiful moments exploring the region — from the lively market and coastline in Antibes, to the charm of Saint‑Tropez, to the scenic drive and photo stops on the way to Monaco. And I’m delighted the gardens at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild left such an impression; they really are magnificent.

Thank you again for your kind words about the planning process. It means so much to know that the itinerary felt comfortable, well‑paced, and tailored to the time you had in the Riviera. I’m grateful for the opportunity to create this experience for you.

Warm regards,
Liz and the rest of the kimkim France team

Our family just returned from an unforgettable 11-day trip through Provence, the French Riviera, and Paris, and I can't say enough good things about working with Liz and her team.

From the moment we landed until the day we flew home, every detail was thoughtfully planned. We traveled from Aix-en-Provence to Nice and then on to Paris, with a perfect mix of guided experiences, free time, and seamless transportation. Every day brought a new adventure, from exploring the stunning Calanques by boat, wandering through charming villages, and seeing the breathtaking lavender fields in Provence, to snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters off the Lérins Islands, visiting Monaco and Èze, touring the Louvre, and ending with an evening cruise on the Seine.

The lavender fields were every bit as beautiful as I had imagined, but if I had to choose a favorite destination, it would absolutely be **Nice**. The colorful Old Town, the Mediterranean coastline, the beach clubs, and the relaxed Riviera atmosphere was amazing!

One of the things I appreciated most was having the **Team France** support while we were traveling. Their app made communication incredibly easy, and it was so reassuring to know that if we had a question or needed assistance, someone was just a message away. They responded quickly and handled every little detail, allowing us to simply enjoy our vacation.

Planning a trip for five adults with trains, private transfers, hotels, and multiple tours could have been overwhelming, but Liz made it feel effortless. Everything flowed beautifully, and we were able to focus on making memories instead of worrying about logistics.

If you're considering a trip to France, I highly recommend working with Liz. She created a vacation that was full of unforgettable experiences, beautiful scenery, and just the right balance of adventure and relaxation. It truly was a trip we'll remember for a lifetime.

Thank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful reflection on your 11‑day journey through Provence, the French Riviera, and Paris. It was an absolute joy to read, and I’m thrilled to hear how meaningful and memorable the experience was for your family.

From the lavender fields of Provence to the colorful streets of Nice and the iconic landmarks of Paris, it sounds like each part of the itinerary offered something special. I’m so glad the mix of guided tours, free time, and seamless transportation helped everything flow comfortably for your group of five — that balance is always something I work hard to get just right.

Your time in Provence sounds wonderful, especially exploring the Calanques by boat and visiting the lavender fields. Those moments are truly unforgettable, and I’m delighted they lived up to your expectations. And I loved hearing how much you enjoyed Nice — the Old Town, the Mediterranean coastline, the beach clubs, and that relaxed Riviera atmosphere really do make it such a standout destination.

It also makes me incredibly happy to hear how helpful the Team France support was throughout your travels. Knowing you had quick, reliable communication and assistance whenever needed is exactly the peace of mind we want our travelers to feel.

Planning a trip with trains, private transfers, multiple hotels, and a variety of tours for five adults can certainly be complex, so it means a lot to hear that the experience felt effortless on your end. That’s always the goal — for you to simply enjoy each day while we take care of the details behind the scenes.

Thank you again for your kind words and for trusting me with such a special trip. I’m so glad it was filled with beautiful scenery, meaningful experiences, and plenty of time to relax and explore. It truly sounds like a vacation your family will remember for a lifetime.

Warmly,
Liz, Dili, Kate, and the rest of your France kimkim team

Thank you Liz for listening to my requests which was to have a dynamic central locating experience. We always stayed in the heart of locations that we wanted to be in. Our transfers and majority of our guides were exceptional. It’s hard to keep track of all our guides. Dina, who toured us in the D’orsay museum was exceptional. Communicated very well and was able to adapt to our needs. We had a person in a wheelchair, which was a challenge throughout. Sara was exceptional, giving us information about the louve. I enjoyed Adam who gave us a tour at the Notre Dame and Saint Chappelle. Additionally, the gentleman who gave us a tour to Saint Remi in Avignon was exceptional. My recommendation, however, is to space out the tours a little bit more or create a situation where maybe people back off or give them the disclaimer that they might not be able to spend as much time as they would like to in one area.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. I’m truly glad to hear that your trip felt both dynamic and centrally located — creating that “heart of the city” feeling was a priority from the start, and I’m delighted it matched what you were hoping for.

I also appreciate your kind words about our guiding team. Dina at the Musée d’Orsay, Sara at the Louvre, Adam at Notre‑Dame and Sainte‑Chapelle, and your guide in Saint‑Rémy all bring such depth and care to their work, and it means a great deal to know they made your visits meaningful, adaptable, and engaging. I’m especially happy that their communication and flexibility supported the needs of your group, including navigating the challenges of traveling with a wheelchair.

To help you make the most informed decisions possible, I created a Loom video outlining the accessibility of each location ahead of time — I’m glad that preparation contributed to a smoother experience.

Your feedback about pacing is incredibly valuable. Spacing tours a bit more or adding clearer expectations about timing is something I’ll take forward to ensure future travelers can enjoy each site at the pace that feels right for them.

All in all, I’m so pleased this was a memorable trip for your group. It was a joy to plan with you, and I’d be honored to help craft your next adventure whenever you’re ready.

Warmly,
Liz
