What places and activities do you specialize in?

"Norway! Especially, the smaller, less known places in Norway. From growing up on a small island in a fjord and working on a small farm-hotel, I would say I specialize and is the most passionate about small and local places and obviously local food. I believe, as a traveler, that everyone must experience local life in new countries, not only the biggest and most famous cities. In today's society, overtourism is a growing phenomenon and taking an active role in visiting less crowded destinations will benefit the local economy and the overall experience for the travelers. "

How did you get involved in travel?

"Travel has always been a natural part of my life, from camping in Sweden as kids and other family holidays, to finally taking my first year abroad as a student in the USA during High School. It felt quite obvious that I should study tourism, where I had a semester in Spain and now two years in Italy. Throughout these years abroad I felt quite proud of my home country and it is an honor being able, through Kimkim, to help people experience this beautiful country in a special way. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"One travel experience I will never forget happened quite recently when I traveled solo in Italy. I took the train to the Umbria region and ended up in a small town on top of a hill where I had found a b&b to sleep. I ended up having the most giving experience through this family that owned this place. They welcomed me with coffee and introduced me to their family members that were on a visit as well and the next morning at breakfast they gave me a small cake with a candle and sang the birthday song to me. They said they saw my birthday had been one week earlier and decided to give me this gift. It was such an easy gesture, a simply friendly atmosphere that made me so grateful for these people. From that day, I decided I wanted to be just like them, leaving the guests feeling special and appreciated."
