How did you get involved in travel?

"I spent several years living in Iceland, traveling across the country and immersing myself in its beauty. I've enjoyed discovering the vibrant culture and cuisine of Reykjavík and escaping to the stunning landscapes beyond the city. With a deep love for nature, hiking, and waterfalls, I'm eager to share my passion for this incredible country with fellow independent travelers."

"A friend invited me to visit his family's hometown, a charming fishing village nestled in northern Iceland. That evening, we headed to the local pub, a cozy spot filled with Icelanders. As we settled in and sipped on our cold Einstök beers, a song started blaring from the speakers. To my surprise, everyone in the pub—except for me—began singing along to the Icelandic classic with great enthusiasm. It was a rare and authentic moment - I still listen to that song occasionally for a wave of nostalgia."

The kimkim team was great and Noga was incredibly responsive and put together a great trip for us. Overall, hotel accommodations were wonderful. The last hotel we stayed in, Hotel Odinsve, was not nearly as nice as the other hotels. Kudos to Nick for his responsiveness in getting us a room change and we are most appreciative of kimkim paying for the upgrade. Read more

One of the very special things they arranged was a Super Jeep Tour where we went where most cars could not go to see the absolute splendor of Iceland. One of the very special things they arranged was a Super Jeep Tour where we went where most cars could not go to see the absolute splendor of Iceland. Our guide, Isaac, was friendly and very knowledgeable. His driving skills through rivers and streams and along muddy roads was excellent. I found I learned so much about Iceland's culture, history, and geography that would have been difficult to learn on my own. In the six days we were in Iceland, we explored the Golden Circle and the south eastern part of the country. It was a wonderful experience.

Hotel Ranga, just outside of Hella, is in a stretch of southern Iceland where there is little around it except for cows and the distant mountains. However, it could compete with any other hotel in Iceland as being one of Iceland's best. The hotel had a western feel with the wood paneled floors and ceilings. The rooms were comfortable with excellent beds and duvets. Our room had a couch as well as a desk and chair. The three outdoor hot tubs were heavenly, even in the light rain that was falling when we were there. The service is wonderful and everyone who works there from the owner, Frederick, who greets you as you enter the restaurant, to the cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating. This included a wake-up call, if you wanted, if the northern lights could be seen. And the restaurant! The food was incredible. It would compete with any high end restaurant.

This is an experience not to miss. Our 8-hour trip on dirt, often muddy, roads, through rivers, and to places a car would have a difficult time going, was amazing. We saw the absolute beauty of souther Iceland. Our guide, Isaac, was friendly and knowledgeable. He talked with us about the culture, history, and geography of Iceland. I learned much more about Iceland that I would otherwise know and I left the trip with a sense of natural beauty that makes Iceland a very special place.

Noga did a fantastic job of planning our itinerary and refining it after we decided to see more of Iceland. We changed the size of our rental car just days before our trip and Noga and Nick were both very responsive within minutes of our request. Kimkim really felt like a concierge travel service because of their immediate response time with any questions that we had. The Kimkim app was extremely easy to use while planning the trip and also in Iceland. Our trip was fantastic! Our itinerary took us to so many extraordinary places while keeping in mind our stamina for each activity. For example, after a long overlong flight, our first activity was to a beautiful geothermal spa. Most days had much driving around the Ring Road, but there were stops along the way that left us awestruck. Our hotels were all very comfortable with 1001 Nott and the Glacier Lagoon hotels both being standout properties. Our tours were led by guides who were both extremely knowledgeable and also friendly and kind. Our Katla Cave and Glacier Walk tours were amazing. The tours physically challenged me but each of our guides took the time to personally help me. I would 1,000 percent recommend Kimkim to help navigate an amazing trip. It was a vacation that we will never forget!

This hotel is a very beautiful property with terrific staff and excellent food. It is located close to town, but feels private and remote. The views are spectacular. It was a calm and peaceful oasis after driving the Ring Road. Highly recommend!

This hotel is a beautiful property. The food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. It felt cozy even though it was a large property. I especially liked the comfy lobby decor. We wished we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the outdoor hot tubs and the wellness room with comfy loungers and an infrared spa.

Noga and Nick were both really easy to work with and so helpful. The trip was great and exhausting on 4 old ladies but we had a great time and the weather couldn't have been better. After our terrific late afternoon zodiac tour looked for a restaurant and the closest one we went to was already booked and weren't taking any more reservations. We did not get into a town that had any restaurant and the only gas station had closed their restaurant at 8pm. We arrived just after that time. On... Read more

Noga and Nick were both really easy to work with and so helpful. The trip was great and exhausting on 4 old ladies but we had a great time and the weather couldn't have been better. After our terrific late afternoon zodiac tour looked for a restaurant and the closest one we went to was already booked and weren't taking any more reservations. We did not get into a town that had any restaurant and the only gas station had closed their restaurant at 8pm. We arrived just after that time. On the next day we were 20 km from our hotel and we had no idea if it had dinner service so we found a place in town to eat, which was really nice, as we didn't want to take the chance of not having service and driving back to town and possibly missing a nice meal again. As it turned out when we got to the hotel, it did have dinner service.

The only recommendation is to ensure travelers where restaurants are and their hours. The hotels were very nice, especially the Landhotel.

A must see. Short hike down. Don’t miss the lagoons hidden behind the rocks on the right.

Wasn’t expecting the trek out to see the seals … took forever to maneuver on the rocks during low tide. There weren’t many seals. If we’d skipped anything on our trip, it would have been this one.

Very cool tour. My kids were dreading this one, but by the end they were glad we’d done it. Our tour guide was great. Wish he’d added info on how to figure out how to say some of the language and also the folklore around trolls and elves.

Beautiful location! If you’re coming from the west, drive over the bridge and park on the north side of the road. You’ll hit the lagoon and the beach at the same spot.

Very cool location. We parked at p3 and hit all the things we wanted to see. Didn’t find a good spot to see the clear water where the snorkelers were.
