Paolah Sastré
"Hi my name is Paolah, I am Mexican, from Monterrey.
I worked and lived in Ireland, Thailand and USA. Now I have settled down in Norway. Getting out of my comfort zone and face different challenges has been helping me to reach personal and professional goals. I love working in multicultural environments because it makes me see the world from another perspectives. I believe traveling has helped me a lot to shape my background, making me adapt easily everywhere.
I am a big fan of eating good and try new cultures fully.
Traveling is definitely an investment in yourself, you invest in experiences that fill your heart, is the best form of education, teaches you confidence, independence and freedom,
After a trip, your mind, the way you look what surrounds you, all you thought you knew, changes forever.
When moving to Norway, I was warned it was gonna be too cold, too dark. But after spending my first full winter in this beautiful country, I can say that I absolutely love it. Altough crawling under a blanket with a hot cup of cocoa, watching it snow outside is one of my favorites, I can honestly say that I really like that Norway has 4 different seasons. Yes, the winter can be dark and long, but having the chance to play in the snow, go ice skating on frozen lakes or simply just go walking around looking at trees filled with snow is something I have really learned to appreciate.
Now heading into spring, feeling the days get longer every day and the norwegians come out of their shell is an amazing view.
Norway really is one of the countries with the most stunning nature, from fjords to mountains, to lively cities and nice small towns. Come to Norway and you will instantly fall in love, whether you go skiing in the mountains or sipping a beer by the water.
Oh, and did I mention the northern lights?
Skål! (cheers)
How did you get involved in travel?
"After a life of working in Finance I still had a dream of studying abroad and getting knowdlege, the one you get from experiences and people.
Many nights of thinking about leaving my regular office life, I decided to quit my job to persuit my dream in 2015.
The 2016 started my life adventure in Ireland.
I spend a year and a half in the Emerald isle (Ireland) and since then I have not stopped making good friends in all the countries I have lived and traveled.
Back in Mexico for 2 years (2018-2020). Pandemic came, remotly job so why not to move to the beach while working? I moved to Tulum, Mx for 4 months, where I met the love of my life. Still locked down and felt I was ready for a new adventure.
I quited my office job again to be an Au Pair in New York for one year (2021) where I found a new family"."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"In 2017 I wanted something different of the Irish weather.
One morning I woke up deciding to move to Thailand within a month,
I lived and work in Thailand for 4 months in an island called Ko Phi Phi.
