Tina Rajkovic

As a child, I spent a lot of time being active in nature not far from where we lived in Croatia. My parents often took me hiking, and this is how I learned to enjoy the little things and to respect and preserve our Mother Nature.
As a licensed local guide, I visited almost every corner of my country. Over time, my love for nature and animals only increased, and caring for the environment became an essential part of my nature trips.
I love spending time outdoors and spend most of my free time wandering and exploring around, in the company of family, friends, and two dogs.
Life is simple, and the simplicity of life is the key to its quality and overall happiness. I want to share that with our clients. It's beautiful everywhere, you just have to see it.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"All Croatia! "

How did you get involved in travel?

"I love to travel and move around regularly in the company of my loved ones."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"One of my most memorable travel experiences is when I was 5 and I traveled with my grandma to visit my aunt who moved to New York. I cannot explain how excited I was. My grandma, meanwhile, didn’t understand any non–Croatian words. Croatia was still a part of the ex-Yugoslavia at that time.
From Zagreb, we headed to Belgrade for a flight to New York. The flight was canceled, and we had to wait until the new plane arrived. I was tired, hungry, and acting like a real brat. After about 6 hours of waiting, the plane finally took off and the flight lasted approximately 9 hours. For me, this journey was extremely long and boring. I thought that the flight would last forever, so many times I suggested to my grandma that we needed to jump from the airplane. I believed that the safety belts were good enough to save us from everything.
When we came to JFK Airport, for the first time in my life I saw how people can communicate with their hands and eyes, without spelling a word. My grandma did an excellent job, she brought her and me (a little brat) to our destination. We were so happy!
If you ask her, it was the most terrible journey of her life, she was so scared. But if you ask me, I will never forget the expression on her exhausted face when she saw her daughter waiting for us at the exit area."

We firstly want to acknowledge how absolutely wonderful it was working with Tina over the months of planning. She was very patient with our needs and questions. While we were in the country, Tina was in daily contact, and we were able to make some adjustments in a timely fashion. The KimKim chat feature was easy to use everywhere.

We found this section of the Dalmatian Coast beautiful and welcoming. The people that we encountered were all friendly and spoke English well enough that we were never lost. The Croatian areas of Split, the islands of Hvar, Vis, and Korcula, and Dubrovnik were very special. The history of that area is very interesting, and we learned a lot from our tour guides and our sailing boat captain.

The sailboat experience out of Hvar, including the owner/captain James, was all that we had hoped that it would be. the weather didn't cooperate for some of the days, but we made the most of it. I would highly recommend James and his 43' Grand Soliel boat to anyone who wants that kind of sailing adventure.

The hotels that we used were 4-star properties and each of them were unique. They were independent properties, not part of a large chain. All of the staff in each of the four hotels were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfasts were more than sufficient. We think that the favorite hotels were the Piazza Heritage Hotel in Split and the Villa Filaus in Dubrovnik. The locations of all 4 hotels was ideal to our needs.

We really liked and appreciated the transfer services that met us at each new stop and took us and our luggage to the hotels. The services that we had in Dubrovnik were particularly good and very conversational. We learned much about the area as well as the local customs from these drivers. They were very professional.

In summary, we would absolutely consider using KimKim travel services in any future planning of international travel!

Piazza Heritage Hotel

This is a beautiful hotel property in an historic building. The location is excellent, being close to the Palace and also to the Riva area. The room was spacious and well kept. The flooring and fixtures seemed to be very newly refreshed. The desk staff was very helpful and spoke excellent English.

This hotel has an excellent location near the boat landings and with a very nice waterfront view. The rating reflects that the bathroom area is smaller than we would prefer and it had no counter space. The breakfast buffet was by far the nicest of the four hotels that we visited.

Hotel Korsal
Korčula

This hotel is in an excellent location for walking into town, yet being away from the hustle-bustle of the Old Town. the room was spacious and the views of the bay out of the windows were beautiful. The staff was very helpful and friendly, both on the front desk and in the dining room. The cushions of the sofa kept sliding forward, which was a bit annoying. the duvet cover for sleeping could have been about 12" wider, since it did not go over the edges of the bed and so while sleeping, your body would be partially uncovered as your sleeping partner pulled the duvet over to cover themselves.

Villa Filaus

This is a beautiful property in an historic building. The room was very spacious, with an outside covered patio to extend the area. The grounds of this hotel are extensive as well. It is very conveniently located just a few steps from the Promenade that runs all the way down to the sea at Sunset Beach. The Villa is owned and managed by the Hotel More, an upscale property at the waters edge on the Promenade. The breakfast is served in a Pizzeria restaurant about 5 minutes walk down the Promenade. Security is very good, with both the front entrance door and each room door protected by an electronic code device.

John, as well as the staff at these family run businesses were kind, generous and just plain fun to be with while hearing the history of farming and popular foods in Korcula. John was very helpful, humorous and a pleasure to spend time with. We also went on a water adventure day on a small yacht with Rocco and Zoran touring us around Korcula's beautiful islets, where our family went sea kayaking and snorkelling through crystal clear waters while taking in breathtaking views. Zoran even caught an octopus for us to hold and admire before placing it back into the water! The highlight of the water adventure day was to visit a secluded beach with a family run restaurant called the Extravaganza. Here, we ate the freshest and best outdoor oven roasted red snapper and John Dory fish, and side dishes, in our lives, and rated our culinary experience as one of the top 5 meals that we have ever had. Wow! As well, our dinners out in Korcula and Lumbarda were all fantastic! Thank you kindly for a wonderful memorable trip.

Hotel Reviews
Art Hotel Kalelarga
Zadar

I stayed at the Art Hotel Kalelarga in Zadar for three nights. The experience was really pleasant. The hotel is right in the middle of town, making it super convenient to get around and explore everything. The breakfast was pretty good, though it was the same every day. Personally, I don’t mind that, but I know some people might want more variety. Overall, it was a great stay and very comfortable.

Exclusive Vila Holiday
Stobreč

The villa in Split was amazing in terms of size and location. It easily accommodated our whole group. However, there were a few issues. We didn’t have hot water on some mornings, so we had to take cold showers. The hot tub wasn’t warm for about three days, which was disappointing since we couldn’t use it. Also, the beds only had thin sheets, and despite asking for heavier blankets, they never arrived. There were some minor issues with the doors as well. Despite these hiccups, the outdoor area was fantastic, and it was perfect for our family gathering.

Hotel Korsal
Korčula

The Hotel Korsal in Korčula was really nice. The breakfast was fantastic, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel’s location was convenient, and we didn’t mind walking around. The overall experience there was very pleasant, and I’d give it a high rating.

Hotel More
Dubrovnik

Hotel More in Dubrovnik was just fantastic. The breakfast was amazing, probably the best of all the places we stayed. The hotel is right on the oceanfront, which made for a beautiful and relaxing end to our vacation. The rooms were nice and comfortable, and the overall experience was exceptional.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with KimKim Traveler, which failed to meet even the most basic expectations for a private guided tour service. Here's a detailed account of the issues I faced:
1. Lack of Private Tour Service: I specifically requested a private tour, expecting personalized pick-up and drop-off at my hotel by the guide. However, this was far from what I received. Instead of the promised door-to-door service, I had to arrange and pay for my own transportation to and from various meeting points. This was not only inconvenient but also contrary to what was advertised and agreed upon, leading to additional unexpected expenses.
2. Poor Itinerary Choices: One of the most disappointing aspects of the tour was the poorly chosen itinerary. Despite the plethora of well-known and significant places of interest in the region, the tour predominantly included visits to wineries, olive farms and yachts. While these might appeal to some, they were not what I was seeking in areas renowned for their beautiful scenery. Missing out on key historical and cultural sites left a significant gap in the travel experience I had hoped for.
3. Excessive Free and Easy Days: The balance between guided tours and free days was heavily skewed in favor of the latter. There were far too many "free and easy" days, with minimal guidance or planned activities. Out of 8 days of tour, 5 days were “free and easy” or “explore on your leisure”. This resulted in a lot of wasted time as I had to figure out my own plans without the local knowledge or recommendations that a guide would typically provide. It felt like I paid for a guided tour but ended up having to navigate and plan as if I were traveling independently.
4. Lack of guides for the trip: Except for the visit to Dubrovnik where a guide was provided for the walk in the old town, the information of all other trips were provided by the driver during the journey.
5. Lack of Personal Touch: The entire tour schedule was emailed before the start of the trip. We were expected to navigate the email (without any provided instructions) to find the pickup or meeting times for the next day's activities.
Overall, my experience with KimKim Traveler was far from satisfactory. The lack of personalized service, the disappointing itinerary, and the excessive free days and the absence of guides, all contributed to a feeling of frustration and regret. For a tour company that promises tailored and comprehensive travel experiences, KimKim Traveler fell woefully short. I would not recommend their services to anyone seeking a well-organized and enjoyable trip.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for taking the time to write me a 5-star review.

Your kind words mean a lot to me and I'm thrilled to hear that your trip to Croatia was memorable. It's wonderful that my assistance helped ensure you had the best possible experience during your travels.

I hope that you both have many more memorable trips together in the future.
I wish nothing but all the best to you both!

Tina
