* Day 1 -Our Hotel and view from our room in Dubrovnik was amazing! The many options for meals (which were delicious) and the beautiful views from those areas were great! The beautiful pools, and the safe places to jump into the Adriatic and swim was really exciting!
* Day 2 - Our friendly local guide, Alberto, was SO knowledgeable about the history and people of Old Town through the centuries. He shared great tips for our own self-touring that afternoon. An extra highlight was that we were able to meet
Marija, in person that a.m. as she was there with another group and made a point of finding us to meet in person. That was a fun surprise.
* Day 3 - Marija planned our seamless arrival of our rental car and we were on our way to Split. Our local tour guide, Ivana, met us at our boutique hotel and it was a convenient walk to Diocietian's Palace. Ivana, who grew up in Split, was a great guide and pointed out the amazing features of the Palace, as well as sharing her experiences as a young girl growing up during the 5 year war.
* Day 4 - We had a beautiful drive to Krka National Park. The waterfalls there were spectacular and this day was a highlight of our trip! On to Zadar where we checked in to the Hotel Bastion, with views of the harbor nearby and easy
walk to experience the Roman and Venetian ruins on the Old Town peninsula. Lots of restaurants to choose from as well!
*Day 5 - Drove to the most famous National Park in Croatia, Plitvice Lakes where Marija had already provided tickets for
us to tour the area. Again, the waterfalls were stunning, and were so worth the walk, in spite of the cloudy day! Then on to
the capitol, Zagreb. We had another seamless transfer to our hotel after dropping off our rental car. Our driver was a great young man who shared his perspective about the 5 yr. war (at my urging). He had been a "celebration baby." His
father had survived the war, married his mother and he was born. He shared that every year they go back to the city in Eastern Croatia, where his father had fought alongside other Croatians to remember those who were lost, such a poignant story.
*Day 6 - Met up with our local guide, Josie, at our hotel and got a great tour of the center of Zagreb. Josie is a vibrant and energetic young woman who loves her city and was so excited to show the many highlights and learn from her about Zagreb's history..... from the City Square, to the famous Cathedral of Zagreb, St. Marks Church, the Dolac Market (amazing daily fresh produce, meat markets, bakeries, wine/olive oil specialties galore!), and riding the Funicular Railway from the upper town back down to the lower town. It was a FUN last day and we topped it off with having an authentic Croatian dinner where the locals go to have a great meal (one of Josie's favorites that she recommended to us). We were not disappointed!!! The BEST local food and great people!
*Day 7 - Marija arranged for our on-time driver to pick us up at 4:30 a.m. for a short, relaxing drive to the Zagreb Airport.
We had plenty of time to relax, buy a few more souvenirs and talk about what an AMAZING trip we'd had.
THANK YOU MARIJA!!!

Hotel is located close to the bus terminal, but a short walk to the city center (15-20 minutes). Friendly staff, very accommodating, great breakfast buffet. Amazing location, right off the city center square. Friendly staff, wonderful room. There are multiple hotels with a name close to this, and it is connected to another hotel, so we had some confusion as to exactly which hotel we were supposed to be at. Parking is under the hotels, and very, very tight. Lovely breakfast. Dinner was available, but we did not eat here.

Super cute boutique hotel a block from the sea. Parking is off site, but they will come and pick you up with a golf cart. Stayed there as a jumping off spots to many areas in the region. We were there in October, so the experience might be different in the summer, but it was a quiet, lovely place to stay.

Summary with details following: I would not recommend Bruno. He can be cranky and short tempered. This was a second trip with Kimkim and they were a disappointment also. I was planning another trip with Kimkim, that I have cancelled. Thankfully, I had not paid the deposit.
Bruno was good during the planning phases with customizing our trip. The trip was a 5* trip for a group of 6 seniors (3 couples). One of the main reasons for using Kimkim was that they had someone local that we could chat with whenever we needed to. Once when I was asking Bruno questions he came back with a response "You are not my only client". I was not expecting an instant response. I don't know why he got annoyed.
He scheduled us, based on our request, to go to Vrsic pass. The roads had been closed for a while and we just happened to find out when we mentioned it to the person at the hotel desk. As my agent there, he should have known this. We could have spent a couple of hours driving there and found out, but we lucked out.
We had rented a van that turned out to be a diesel van. Not understanding the nomenclature, we ended up pumping regular gas in the van. In the US, the nozzle typically will not fit, but apparantly not in Europe. Lesson learned. It was a Sunday evening and the van started sputtering and we got an "engine failure likely" warning. Luckily, we got off the highway and managed to get to a gas station in the boonies. Bruno was very irritated and kept telling me it was my fault and wanted to make sure to tell me that I had to pay for it. I never had an expectation that he would cover it. He later told me that because of this he lost family time and wanted me to feel sorry for him. Remember, it was 6 senior citizens stranded in some unknown village not knowing the language and dealing with an irritated specialist, Bruno. We lost a day of site seeing and Bruno had to do some re-arranging of our itinerary due to this. Yes, it was not his fault for sure, but shit happens. If family time is more important, get a 9 to 5 job.
One of the hotels (Pallazo) was a disaster. We stayed there for 2 nights and we had AC and internet issues the whole time. I had to move rooms twice (3 different rooms in 2 nights) and another couple had to move once and the third couple had to put up with boiling temperatures for one night. Remember, we had requested the best hotels and this was a disaster. The total cost of the 11 day trip was over $28K and I insisted on some compensation and the best they could do was a total refund of $340 plus $100 Kimkim credit for each couple. We were paying about $2500 per day ($5000 for 2 days) and the best they could do was $340. The credit is useless, since I don't plan on using Kimkim anymore. When I told Bruno that I would follow up with Kimkim, he told me to not bother and that they could not do anything. He was right. So having Kimkim as the parent organization buys you nothing, You just pay more since they take their commission off the top and provide no value when it comes to issues like this.
Kimkim's planning online interface is nice until you need to remove people that may have dropped out. The emails continued going to the people that dropped out and the message authors were mixed up with some message. Basically it seems to have some annoying issues. The group organizer cannot add and remove people. Simple email questions in the chat window ends up going to everyone creating a lot more communications than necessary. I could not send a chat message to Bruno privately.

Hello Aanand,

Thank you for your feedback. As a travel agent with a record of only 5-star reviews, I am dedicated to providing the highest standard of service to my clients. I’d like to address the details of your review and clarify my role in supporting your trip so there is no misunderstanding.

I understand that the AC problem at Hotel Pallazzo was disappointing. When the issue arose, the hotel management offered several alternative rooms, but the AC was unfortunately unrepairable during your stay. Given that temperatures were moderate (68°F during the day and 55°F at night), we hoped this would minimize the inconvenience. As an apology, the hotel refunded 10% of the cost of your stay, and Kimkim additionally credited $300 to your account, both of which I communicated promptly over WhatsApp.

I dedicated significant time to perfecting your itinerary. During the planning process, we exchanged more than 220 messages and made multiple revisions to align with your preferences. Later, when your two friends joined, I rebooked accommodations and activities to accommodate them seamlessly. During the trip, I remained available from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, responding within 10 minutes on WhatsApp to ensure your experience was smooth and enjoyable.

The Vršič Pass closure, due to a last-minute decision by the Slovenian Ministry of Transport, was beyond my control. Upon learning of the closure, I immediately provided alternatives. You and your friends enjoyed an unexpected visit to Italy and Mangart, which added to the original plan. When rain affected plans the following day, I arranged a visit to Postojna Cave, widely regarded as one of Europe’s most beautiful.

The van rental owner personally delivered the vehicle to you and emphasized that it required diesel fuel, which was also clearly marked on the fuel cap. However, errors happen. When you poured the wrong fuel, I immediately assisted you. This occurred at 6 p.m. on a Sunday while I was with my family. I called you to assess the situation and spent the next three hours coordinating solutions, including a towing service, organizing a transfer to your accommodation, reorganization of your itinerary to avoid missed experiences, and replacement of the damaged vehicle. This minimized any impact on your trip and also saved you costs associated with pre-booked entries and activities, for which I negotiated waivers due to the disruption, as I do for all my clients.

Throughout your journey, I ensured you stayed in the highest-quality hotels available. Your group enjoyed the best rooms (suites and deluxe sea-view accommodations, especially on the coast), and I secured an upgrade at your favorite hotel of the trip before your arrival. Additionally, all services—city tours, truffle hunting, wine tastings—were arranged privately for your group to enhance the experience. I also coordinated with guides to adapt to any schedule changes, such as late arrivals or requests to adjust start times, ensuring flexibility tailored to your preferences.

We communicated privately throughout the trip via WhatsApp, with updates on refunds, credits, and itinerary adjustments. I promptly informed you about the hotel refund and Kimkim’s $300 credit, which were both aimed at alleviating the inconvenience with the AC at Hotel Pallazzo.

Kimkim, my partners, and I worked diligently to make your trip memorable and enjoyable. Considering the time, dedication, and personalization provided, I am surprised by the 2-star rating, especially given that your group received premium accommodations, exclusive activities, and 24/7 support. I trust that, over time, you’ll reflect on the unique experiences and the efforts made to create a special journey for you and your friends.

Thank you once again for choosing to explore Croatia and Slovenia. I hope these memories stay with you and are ultimately rewarding, as they were for the rest of your entourage.

Warm regards,
Bruno

We firstly want to acknowledge how absolutely wonderful it was working with Tina over the months of planning. She was very patient with our needs and questions. We were extremely happy with the hotels she selected, the tours/excursions that she booked, and the overall sailing experience that we sought. While we were in the country, Tina was in daily contact, and we were able to make some adjustments in a timely fashion. The KimKim chat feature was easy to use everywhere.

We found this section of the Dalmatian Coast beautiful and welcoming. The people that we encountered were all friendly and spoke English well enough that we were never lost. The Croatian areas of Split, the islands of Hvar, Vis, and Korcula, and Dubrovnik were very special. The history of that area is very interesting, and we learned a lot from our tour guides and our sailing boat captain.

The sailboat experience out of Hvar, including the owner/captain James, was all that we had hoped that it would be. the weather didn't cooperate for some of the days, but we made the most of it. I would highly recommend James and his 43' Grand Soliel boat to anyone who wants that kind of sailing adventure.

The hotels that we used were 4-star properties and each of them were unique. They were independent properties, not part of a large chain. All of the staff in each of the four hotels were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfasts were more than sufficient. We think that the favorite hotels were the Piazza Heritage Hotel in Split and the Villa Filaus in Dubrovnik. The locations of all 4 hotels was ideal to our needs.

We really liked and appreciated the transfer services that met us at each new stop and took us and our luggage to the hotels. The services that we had in Dubrovnik were particularly good and very conversational. We learned much about the area as well as the local customs from these drivers. They were very professional.

In summary, we would absolutely consider using KimKim travel services in any future planning of international travel!

This hotel is in an excellent location for walking into town, yet being away from the hustle-bustle of the Old Town. the room was spacious and the views of the bay out of the windows were beautiful. The cushions of the sofa kept sliding forward, which was a bit annoying. the duvet cover for sleeping could have been about 12" wider, since it did not go over the edges of the bed and so while sleeping, your body would be partially uncovered as your sleeping partner pulled the duvet over to cover themselves.

The Villa is owned and managed by the Hotel More, an upscale property at the waters edge on the Promenade. The breakfast is served in a Pizzeria restaurant about 5 minutes walk down the Promenade. I worked with Tina on the Kimkim team to plan a 5 day trip to the island of Korcula. I worked with Tina on the Kimkim team to plan a 5 day trip to the island of Korcula. She was truly fantastic to work with as she was kind, patient, knowledgeable and thorough in planning an adventurous, yet relaxing time for our family of 10, including 8 young adults in their 20's and 30's. She arranged a bicycle tour, as well as a walking tour for us with John, who was our guide. The tour included stops at wineries, honey, fig and olive farms. John, as well as the staff at these family run businesses were kind, generous and just plain fun to be with while hearing the history of farming and popular foods in Korcula. John was very helpful, humorous and a pleasure to spend time with. We also went on a water adventure day on a small yacht with Rocco and Zoran touring us around Korcula's beautiful islets, where our family went sea kayaking and snorkelling through crystal clear waters while taking in breathtaking views. Zoran even caught an octopus for us to hold and admire before placing it back into the water! The highlight of the water adventure day was to visit a secluded beach with a family run restaurant called the Extravaganza. Here, we ate the freshest and best outdoor oven roasted red snapper and John Dory fish, and side dishes, in our lives, and rated our culinary experience as one of the top 5 meals that we have ever had. Wow! As well, our dinners out in Korcula and Lumbarda were all fantastic! Thank you kindly for a wonderful memorable trip.

Hotel Review
Hotel Korsal
Korčula

Everything was excellent at the Hotel Dorsal. The staff were professional, kind, caring, patient, and extremely helpful to all of us with our questions and needs. The rooms were quiet, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff were polite and helpful. We were all extremely pleased with our stay at the Hotel Dorsal and would return if ever in Korcula again.
