One of the classic treks in Nepal, this popular route takes you all the way from subtropical jungle to high-altitude plateau, culminating in Thorung La at 5,419 m.

Best Short Treks in Nepal - Trekking Itineraries Ranging from 3 to 10 Days

Nepal offers a wide variety of trekking trails. For travelers who are short on time, here are some of the best short treks Nepal has to offer ranging from 3 to 10 days. Each of these treks can be extended; the number of days listed here represents the minimum number of days you need to complete these trails.

Namche Bazaar, the largest village in the Solu Khumbu
Best Short Treks in the Everest Region

With snow-capped peaks and fabled Sherpa culture, the Everest region is famous for some of the best trekking in Nepal. If you don’t have the minimum 12 days it takes to do the Everest Base Camp trek, however, here are a few great shorter treks to choose from.

Beautiful Gokyo lake and village

Gokyo Lakes Trek - 16 Days

The sparkling, pristine blue and green waters of the Gokyo Lakes are one of Nepal’s most memorable sights. They comprise the highest freshwater lake system in the world, at around 5,000 meters. The Gokyo Lakes trek is ideal for people who want to trek in the Everest region, but who want more variety of views and fewer nights spent at very high altitude.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek features everything you'd want from a classic trek in Nepal: Epic scenery, intimate encounters with local people and their ancient culture, and a 17,000-foot (5,100 m) Himalayan pass crossing. Kimkim's trusted partners in Nepal organize weekly group departures during the spring and fall trekking seasons, as well as private treks that can run on any date from February to June and September through November.

Structured Planning: While I used to plan my own travel, Sangita helped to narrow down my options by getting to know my budget and preferences. Her advice and tips saved me a lot of my planning time. Sangita also sends out preparations and packing reminders prior to the trip, and her broader team stayed in contact with me throughout my trekking trip.

Speedy Response: It was a bonus when Sangita always respond within 24 hours. She was able to make adjustments when my schedule changes. I particularly appreciated an additional activity booking after I arrived in Nepal. Sangita and her team could take an extra mile to ensure guests get the most out of visiting their country.

Personalized and Detailed Advice: Many guidebooks, blogs and YouTube channels would showcase where to visit in Nepal. With a personal travel advisor like Sangita, she and her team were able to advise where to prioritize after knowing your interests and experiences.

Welcoming Hospitality by Team: I much enjoy meeting Sangita and her team in person while in Nepal (I did not expect such personalized follow through). It was a lovely cross cultural experience from a warm welcome at the airport, trekking briefing, a short walk to the market, cooking class at her office and a lovely farewell lunch to wrap up the trip. Sangita has long working partnerships with her local guides and drivers. You know you are in good hands booking your Nepal trip with Sangita.

Our trek with Mitra was carefully thought out, we felt in very good hands as he did this route many times.
Sangita organized two Newari cooking classes for us which was both very exciting and tasty, and we got to learn from Nepali expert homemakers.
Sanit took us on a journey through Buddhist and Hindu temples and rituals, and gave us a very in-depth explanation of eastern philosophy.

Sangita was always on top of things, gave us constant support whenever we contacted her, and welcomed us into Nepal

Hotel Reviews
Aabas Pokhara
Pokhara

We really enjoyed our stay as Aabas, the breakfast was great, shower, bed and amenities were above our expectations, the view from the rooftop pool is awe inspiring.

Authenticity & Character
Good room designs, awesome rooftop, very warm lobby and restaurant
Location
Very close to the Lakeside road
Cleanliness & Comfort
Hotel WoodApple
Thamel

Hotel WoodApple was okay but not quite up to our expectations. The room felt very cold and dark, unfortunately. However, the breakfast was okay. The hotel itself seemed pretty empty during our stay.

Traditional Stay
Mangalbazar, Kathmandu

The Traditional Stay in Patan offered very clean rooms, but the room configurations were quite strange. We had to change rooms a few times because each had a separate issue. The accommodation was cold with no proper heating in the rooms, which was a bit uncomfortable.

Activity Review

Kathmandu

We had so much fun learning from Rita and Sangita the art of making MoMo. Ours weren't particularly perfect, but with the help of our teachers we got to enjoy a great meal of our making. The food came out amazing and since we made everything from scratch we can now make it to our friends back home.

Quality of Experience
Very personal experience
