This trip was a mother/daughter trip for the first time since covid and it couldn’t have gone better!! Mohammed, Said and our driver, Ilyace were amazing! We were there during the earthquake and Said reacted very quickly to ensure that we were safe. Our local guides in Fes, Essaouira and Marrakech were great and very knowledgeable about their cities. My only quip was that the Fes and Marrakech tours tried to take us to a rug co-op (we did one in Fes) and we ended up at a Berber apothecary co-op twice as well. There didn’t seem to be communication as to the activities we had completed in a previous city. Some of the stores also felt very pushy for sales. But that’s definitely not Said, Ilyace or anyone with KimKim/Original Travels fault!

Hotel Reviews
Riad Bayti
Marrakech

We didn’t get to stay here because of the earthquake. We were moved to hotel les tres palmiers, so this review is based on that. The hotel was fine, everyday after running the AC for a bit a putrid smell would come into the room for a few hours which was not great.

Authenticity & Character
Location
Convenient location in the new town of marrakech
Staff
Front desk guy was unhelpful with complaints about odor in room, lack of toilet paper in lobby bathroom
Cleanliness & Comfort
Our room was cleaned by housekeeping and they didn’t replace the pillowcases on our pillows… so we just had stained pillows
Lina Ryad & Spa
Chefchaouen

We only stayed one night but this hotel was so cute! We wish we could’ve stayed more to enjoy the pool

Authenticity & Character
Location
The stairs in Chefchaouen are no joke, including up to this ryad! Just be warned

Riad Ghita
Fes

This riad was gorgeous! And we were So impressed with the helpfulness of the staff

Authenticity & Character
Location
A little bit further outside the main areas of Fes, about a 15 min walk to some main restaurants. The alleys could be a be disconcerting walking back late at night

Cleanliness & Comfort
Riad Maison Du Sud
Essaouira

This riad was definitely a miss… there appeared to be some miscommunication with the riad and said as to the condition of the room that was booked. It had no AC/fans and no airflow what so ever. My mother and I rebooked ourselves at a different location

Great tour but he wanted to take us to some co-op locations we had been to already in Fes. We ended up at a Berber apothecary again and got another presentation about their traditional medicines.
