We travelled Oct. 27 to Nov. 3rd - Tangier to Marrakech. Majid was our planner, he was very accommodating even when we switched up Casablanca for Rabat - which was a mistake, even though our driver called ahead to the Riad to make sure we had separate beds, what we were given was far from comfortable - instead of separating the double bed, they just made up the small sofa to a bed - it was very uncomfortable for an adult to sleep on. Our guide/driver Mouad picked us up in Tangier. We could not have had a better match for our personality. Mouad was thoughtful, kind and funny, and listened to “what WE wanted to do” , even after our tour ended, he made sure we were safe and not to hesitate to reach him if we needed anything - which was a huge plus for two senior females in Marrakech! Our only regret was not having KimKim arrange for our 3 days to Merzouga desert - the company we hired was horrible - the driver had zero interest in what we wanted or did he care.

We specifically asked for 2 beds, what we got was a double bed and the sofa. Clearly the double bed could have been separated but they were too lazy and opted to put sheets on the sofa - it was very uncomfortable, good thing it was only one night

I’m sorry to hear about the discomfort with the sleeping arrangements in Rabat and will pass this feedback along to the Riad to help improve their service for future guests. Your comment about the separate beds being improperly prepared is certainly something I’ll address to avoid similar issues.
As for your Merzouga Desert experience, I regret to hear that the other company did not meet your expectations. I’m confident that had we been part of that leg of your journey, I could have ensured the same level of care and attention you experienced with Mouad. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I hope to have the chance to assist you with every aspect of your travels next time.
I truly appreciate your trust in our team and look forward to helping you plan future adventures!

I have used Kim Kim to book two other trips and have been pleased with each of the travel advisors, who knew what they were doing and provided useful and actionable advice. In particular, if you are going to Iceland, Gummi is a great trip advisor.

Hakim was unable or unwilling to provide helpful advice for this trip. In answering questions, he would typically reply with flowery, formulaic messages that had no substance and didn’t answer the question. It’s like he didn’t know what he was doing or couldn’t think of suggestions. I got the sense that he didn’t care about making the trip for us; rather he wanted us to follow a set pattern. He didn’t listen. In the end, we did our own research and made our own decision without his help. Hakim was of little assistance.

Given my experience with Hakim, it is unlikely that I will use Kim Kim again.

I have used KimKim before, and liked certain things about it, but learned a few things from the last trip with them and was able to communicate all the things that are important to us to Majid. He was very easy to work with on the details and specifics and planned a great itinerary combining both his insights with our requests. The most important part, being pairing us with the best guide possible. If I could always have Mouad as a driver/guide, or I could transport him to all future trips elsewhere, I would 100% of the time. He made sure every detail was to our liking, let us know he could edit timelines and travel plans as we wished as we went along on the trip, and was able to navigate all of our plans and desires perfectly. He went way above and beyond the entire time, always giving us tips, insights, helpful knowledge and so much more. There was nothing he would say no to, and no problem or need he couldn't solve or provide. There was just the right amount of activity and the logistics for a big trip were all seamless. I would use this team for any planning on Morocco!

This was the only detail of our journey that could have been improved. The tour started off well, with a good stop for soup and some history on the woman making it, but only included one other street food place and then a very mediocre restaurant (which I would not have picked out as there are many way more interesting ones). I would say this needs improvement - there are tons of interesting dishes to try and we didn't really get a good overview and sampling. Luckily our driver/guide made up for that by leading the way on other parts of the trip.

The trip highlight is the desert, unbelievable! The day it takes to drive there and the day it takes to drive back are worth the experience. The best meal was on Dades. Marrakesh great city we spend extra days in it. I would stay outside the Medina since the "regular" hotels are within walking distance from it.

We had an amazing time during our trip to Morocco. From when Mouad picked us up at the airport until the end of our time with him, he was amazing and constantly checked that we were happy. His English was good enough that we could have great conversations about the countryside we were driving through, he made sure that we were always comfortable and had anything that we needed. We would highly recommend him as a guide for anyone wanting to see the country as he drove us from Tangier to Chefchaouen, to Fez, to Rabat, to Casablanca and then to Marrakesh. The riads that we were booked at were, for the most part, quite amazing. Beautiful old places and the staff went out of their way to make us happy. Except for one place - the riad in Rabat. We had requested two beds and instead of separating the two beds that made up the king size one (which would have meant they would have to remake the beds) they left us with the king size and a very uncomfortable couch in the sitting room area. We were so tired that night, we didn't even have the energy to eat, we just collapsed. We were very unhappy about that experience. The guides that we had in Fez and Marrakesh who took us around the city and through the medinas were very very knowledgeable about the history of everywhere they took us. Two of our highlights were the hammam that included a massage and dinner with a local couple in their home where we had a lively discussion and learned a lot about the day to day life of people in Morocco. We would unhesitatingly recommend KIMKIM as the company to use in your travels and Mouad especially. He went out of his way to ensure we always had everything we wanted/needed.

Our trip to Morocco via KimKim was truly magical and probably one of the best trips of my life (including 25 other countries visited so far)!! This was my first time traveling via a travel agency and with a guide / driver and I cannot recommend KimKim, Majid or our amazing guide Mouad enough!! My heart is so full after this trip and our experience with them! Morocco is a beautiful country with kind people, amazing food, adventure, relaxation, shopping, art, music and more. Majid did a great job organizing the details of the trip and providing recommendations so our itinerary had it all!

Once we arrived to Casablanca, we were met at the airport by our fantastic guide Mouad who's big smile, great sense of humor, attention to detail and thoughtfulness truly left a huge impression on our group. Mouad was an extremely safe and organized driver. We could relax and have fun because we knew he had everything handled. He frequently broke up our longer drives for "great stops" along our route which allowed us to really get a feel for the beautiful people, culture and cuisine of Morocco that we would not have found with out him. Some of my favorites stops were to get fresh squeezed pomegranate juice, prickly pears and oranges from local farms, coffee from roadside vendors, freshly shucked oysters right from the ocean, assorted Moroccan cookies from an amazing bakery, henna tattoos from a local village, hikes along the sea and mountains, etc. Mouad is DEFINITELY who you want as your guide! He is positive, funny, knowledgeable, easy going, and he has a gift for reading people and assessing their needs. He flexed perfectly from giving us great information on the country, being our hype-man when we were having fun and excited, finding anything we needed (ice, medicine, a birthday cake, etc), and creating a calm environment when everyone wanted to relax in the car. He also invited us to his family's home for lunch in the desert which was a heartwarming experience that I'll never forget. He helped us get a special birthday cake in the desert, play a prank our on friend in the Dedas Valley and he helped us change our plans a few times so we could stay in the best places (with the best rooms) and be sure to see Essoueria which was our favorite! Our trip to Morocco was full of so much laughter, adventure, learning and love all thanks to Mouad!

My favorite adventures of this trip were wandering the narrow medina streets in Fez, hiking with monkeys in the Atlas mountains, riding camels, ATVs and 4x4s through the Sahara desert, dancing to Gnawa and Tinariwen music at the desert, camp, meeting Mouad's family in Rissani, shopping for a custom leather jacket and Berber rugs in the Atlas mountains, relaxing at the Hammam in Marrakesh, laughing and eating together, trying street food in Essoueira, and galloping down the beach on horseback in Essoueira. Thank you to KimKim, Majid and Mouad! <3

He really helped us navigate the unknown and was very reassuring the whole time. Thank you Kamir!!! Our Fez city guide was also very good. I think his name was Kamir. My only complaint is that I would have preferred the city tour be more about the history and the sites rather than the heavy emphasis on shopping. Karim Boutellaka was our guide for the Atlas mountain hike and he was also EXELLENT! We learned so much from him about the forest and he even insisted on sharing his lunch with him. He is an amazing guide and very kind and patient man. Sara at Wanderlust was also very helpful. She jumped in when we were considering a moumtain bike trip but unfortunately illness prevented us from taking advantage of her planning. The dessert was incredible and quite an experience. I can't get over the night sky and the quiet of the dessert. The camel ride was fun and the camels were very sweet and mellow. There is so much beauty in Morocco and the people are so kind! It was a great experience.

I'm glad Kamir decided to hike with us because our guide spoke little to no English. It would have been much less pleasant if Kamir wasn't with us. Also, we were told the hike to God's Bridge was under water. We spoke to other tourists the next day and find out that was not the case. I would have liked to hike there too.

I did not like the way the driver drove from the drop off point to where we started our camel ride. He drove like a madman over the sand dunes, very bumpy and unpleasant. The camel ride was great. Not the most comfortable mode of transportation by hey, it's a camel ride in the dessert! Our guide was very kind and helpful. My favorite part was the night sky after all the lights in the camp were turned off. Incredible! We say the milky way, shooting stars and a planet. In addition watching the sunrise and sunset was amazing!

Hi Sue,

Thank you for the review! We truly appreciate you taking the time to send us any feedback and thoughts. I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your first driver; we'll make note of this for the future. And we'll also make note of the heavy emphasis on shopping during your tour of Fes. Kamal (our tour guide there) usually receives many requests to help travelers buy handicrafts, so this may be why the tour steered in that direction.

Thank you again!

Rabat was a very clean more modern city on the Atlantic coast, but basically felt like a filler destination. I wouldn't go there again.
In Marrakesh, we enjoyed the very comfortable and beautiful Riad Chergui with the french influences of its owners, and had a fantastic small group food tour around the central square and in the souks and many more hours wandering through the markets the next day. Overall, we preferred Fes to the much larger, noisier, congested, and polluted Marrakesh.
Our final destination was a luxe tent "camp" in the Agafay Valley desert some 40 kilometers south of Marrakesh, with photo-op camel ride. All guests were well-heeled international tourists, if that's the kind of company you travel to Morocco to be with. The dinner meal was exceptional; I probably wouldn't do this again, ever.

The area that Kimkim should most consider upgrading is their advice on tipping. Tipping is basically expected everywhere. Kimkim's brief guide was not that helpful and in many cases was outdated. I fretted most about tipping our driver and guides. Apparently a 10% tip is standard and acceptable, but what we actually paid our driver and the various guides was buried in the overall fee paid to Kimkim. That information would have made our trip much more pleasant for me.

Every arrangement at our Riyadh was both comfortable and elegant, offering the traditional Moroccan experience we were hoping for. Our days were packed with sights and activities, and we truly got an exceptional guide in Sallam. His knowledge of Moroccan history was impressive, and he had a wonderful ability to engage each of us, ensuring everyone felt heard, involved and comfortable exploring. Our expectations were high, but we came away with far more enjoyment, understanding, and appreciation for your culture and country than we ever anticipated.

When a medical emergency unexpectedly interrupted our travel plans, your team went above and beyond to arrange excellent care for me and smoothly adjusted our itinerary to meet our specific needs. Every response from your organization was outstanding, showcasing remarkable professionalism and genuine care.

The attention to detail you provided ensures the ongoing success of your company. For anyone considering a trip to Morocco, this team is second to none. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Yassine is so communicative, helpful, proactive, flexible and anticipates our needs - he made the planning part of it seem so effortless! It just relied on my two friends and I to make decisions, which was the only hard part of it. In fact - I previously worked with Yassine on an attempt to travel to Morocco. It fell through on my end, but because Yassine was so great to work with then, I immediately thought and requested to work with him again on this trip!

Said, our local driver from Casablanca, was with us the entire 15 days of the trip. We got along really well and he was someone we didnt even know we needed. It was the 3 of us women and he made us feel safe in a place where we all have heard mix things about traveling as a woman in this part of the country. He was also helpful in making more local less touristy recommendations for activities - he knew us well. His English is on point and it helped us conversate really well. He is also hospitable, personable and just so knowledgeable about his home town/country that has allowed us to learn so much of the Moroccan and Muslim culture. If it wasnt for him to allow us to connect with him and people there, the trip honestly would not have been the same and probably a bit more touristy. This is what truly made the trip above any other trips I've gone to and I travel frequently! (side note: we grew attached to Said by the end of the trip and we were sad to have had to say goodbye!)

A quick note - through Yassine, he booked several local tour guides for certain cities and events like Fatima for a food tour in Fes - she was amazing and so supportive of us women, and honestly can't remember the other local tours in other cities but we had a few more. Said helped us with smaller tours that made it more meaninful. We stayed in 9 cities and saw probably about 11-12 cities total.

also this is my second trip using KimKim and can't say enough good things about their services. You do pay extra but it is worth every penny! Use Kimkim when you dont have time to plan with people to take ensure you have an amazing trip - and reach out to Yassine for a Morocco trip and request for Said Misser for your driver!!!

thank you so much Said, Yassine, Kimkim for an unforgettable trip!!!

Everything is on schedule and the weather also cooperated. If there's any room for improvement, it was the Hamam. Perhaps, one can book where all the locals usually go. The Hamam we experienced looks like one meant for tourists. The food tour can also be suggested on the first day and not on the last day.

Overall, I am very happy with how our trip to Morocco was and I can only express my gratitude and that I look forward to having future trips curated by your organization. I will also recommend this to friends who like to visit Morocco. Thank you!

Overall, the trip was pretty fantastic though there were definitely some glitches. Meeting our driver on day 1 was a bit sketchy since we weren't informed we had to take a bus to the terminal from the ferry, and once we made contact we found out this was not our driver for the whole trip. The first night was a bit scary, due partially from Brenda wanting to find individual Riads rather than your chosen ones. Accommodations were not as we had anticipated and it was well off the beaten path. Fortunately all turned out ok, and the next morning we met Karim who was our security blanket for the rest of the trip. Karim was a great guide and driver. He was so knowledgeable about his country, geography, fauna and of course customs of the Moroccan people. His love of his country was quite evident in how he spoke. In riding with him he was very conscientious in maintaining safe speeds and did not take risks. We felt very fortunate to have been gifted him as our driver. I can't be as complementary regarding the vehicle we road in though. Though it was comfortable it had a bad exhaust system and we could continually smell exhaust for 7 days and many kilometers. It was a breathtaking tour watching the countryside with the ever changing landscape of the country. Some of the travel days were spent far too long on the road in the vehicle though.
All the guides we had were knowledge and friendly. Our favorite, another Karim, lead on us a 4 1/2 hr hike in Azrou who shared so much about trees, plants and wildlife, as well as his lunch! A very remarkable man and hiking guide!! The 2 guides in the cities, Kamal in Fez and Mohammad in Marrakech were good. Kamal had a superior knowledge of Fez Medina and we surely would have been lost without him. He led us to areas that many tourists rarely experience as in the a market that was below street level packed shoulder to shoulder with people and the 3 of us had to hold hands so as not to be separated. He also presented a restaurant for us that was superb for spread of Moroccan food. It became quite clear he was also the ambassador for the shop keepers and tourists. We felt greatly under pressure to buy many items even though I know the custom was to repay the craftsman by purchases. Mohammad in Marrakech was a friendly jolly man who we enjoyed though also acted as a go between the shopkeepers and tourists. He did an overly good job in introducing us to the foods available in Marrakech market. I appreciated his openness to sharing Muslim practices and was very accommodating in finding restaurants in line with our dietary preferences.
Overall the trip was fantastic, but there were many challenges throughout with the language barrier, getting accustomed to layout of Riads, design of Medinas and constant calculating money exchanges. The warmth and friendliness of the Moroccan people we came in contact with was very welcoming.
