What an amazing trip. We were cared for in the most expeditious and courteous manner. We opted for the 10 day Luxury trip from Casablanca to Marrakech and back to Casablanca with a private driver. Faysel was our driver for 9 of the 10 days. He was fun! He stopped as we needed rest room breaks, kept us informed regarding all the places we were heading to, had a clean and comfortable vehicle. He played Moroccan modern music for us but also was kind enough to let us play our plethora of tunes and listen to our less than perfect singing the entire trip. He never let us touch our luggage. He loaded it and unloaded it. He was a very skilled driver, able to adapt as needed to the often times busy and crazy road conditions, but also smooth enough that we fell asleep several times on our longer drives. He was very well connected and had a really good rapport with the local guides that directed our tours. It was evident from Day 1 that he loves his country and loves what he does and that type of attitude was infectious. What did we love about Morocco? Everything. The food, the cooking class, The Blue City, Fes, Meknes, The desert luxury camp, Sahara Desert camel ride, Atlas Mountains, Casablanca, Marrakech, medinas, souks, all of the massages that they scheduled for us, the personal tours, bypassing the long queues, treated like queens... Waters whenever we were thirsty, punctuality. The tour guides were top notch. We learned so much! The textiles you can buy in Morocco, OMG the quality is so good. Definitely exercise your bargaining skills and bring home beautiful heirlooms. Our second driver was Samir. He took gentle care of us. By our last few days we had several HEAVY purchases that needed to be loaded and unloaded into the car. We needed tape, and packing materials. He retrieved those for us. He also was a careful driver. Oh and let's not forget Mohamed that helped me to plan this trip and squeeze in every little whim and fancy. His hotel recommendations were above par. I needed more time but alas my work schedule wouldn't allow for more time but I definitely will be back and I will try my hardest to get Faysel as my driver again. Many thanks to Hanan my tour guide in Marrakech that made sure my custom made purchases made it to me before my departure. I loved Morocco and the friendships I formed here. Thank you Kim Kim for this ah-mazing experience.
Hotel Reviews
Top notch camp. I ran into a lot of people in Morocco that said they stayed at a noisy "luxury camp" with no a/c. Believe me, they are not speaking of this camp. This camp was air conditioned, spacious, clean white linens with adequate lighting and electrical outlets. It also had a POOL! We had evening entertainment, singing, dancing and playing drums with the Imazighen people. Dinner and breakfast was really good too. Where they are in the dunes is incredible. 90% of my photos have zero filters. Do not miss the opportunity to take amazing Sunset and Sunrise photos. This camp is a good 30 minutes out from the main road where all is quiet and you can see the stars and simply relax and take in the beautiful view.
This hotel is beautiful with beautiful views. I devoted an entire post to the beauty of this hotel. Beware, there are a lot of steps to the top but it's well worth it! Don't worry, they've got your bags, you just need to do you! The food was excellent and it's in a blocked off area so very little noise. The rooms are large and decorated in Moroccan mid century style (I think I just made that up but the best way I can describe it!) I would consider this a luxury boutique style hotel and I would definitely stay there again. :-)
Gorgeous. Modern. Chic. Also had a massage while I was there. Several restaurant options. The room was super spacious. It was atop a hill with amazing views. Breakfast was delicious. Security guard on site so it is quiet and decadent and feels more exclusive. Pool is beautiful too.
Booked this hotel as an option to catch a shower and quick nap before my 1:30am departure from Casablanca airport after a day in the heat visiting the Hassan II Mosque. The staff is very kind. The bed was actually very comfortable too with nice clean and soft linens. My only issue with the hotel was that it is older so in the shower there were black mold spots on the tiles. The toilet brush is also mounted on the wall near the toilet and the top of the bristles are exposed. I booked a luxury trip with Kim Kim and I would not consider this portion of the trip luxury. It is conveniently located next to restaurants and the medina though, so that is a plus. This is a modern business style hotel. It seemed busy enough, like a lot of travel/tour groups funnel thru it. I would recommend a Riad or the Hilton Garden Inn instead (as long as you have a driver accessible)
Great and unique stop on our 10 day trek. This hotel has an amazing pool with some really good views. Dinner was delicious and it was a nice stop on our way to Marrakech from Merzouga. The hotel is decorated in an African style vs Moroccan. It was a welcome change. Wifi was strong, the shower was nice and hot. The ac was very nice too.
