The goal for our 16-day trip to Morocco was to see the country but at the same time, to have a relaxing holiday and Sharon and Sallam, our tour manager, were instrumental in making this happen!
We never felt rushed. We could enjoy a morning lie-in, we could take extra time at certain sites and Sallam made sure to drive us safely and keep to the speed limit to our next stop.

We were amazed at the good quality roads all over the country but especially in Rabat and Casablanca. We were blown away by the internet connectivity, even in the remotest villages and deep canyons.
Our accommodation was in all instances very good and above our expectations. Here I must mention that our best stay was at Chez Ichou in Boumalne Dades. The food was exceptional and the service, was by far, the best in all Morocco.

Our Top 3 memories from this trip were:
1. The hike at Akchour Park in Chefchaouen, where we drank mint tea next to the cascading waterfalls.
2. The desert camel trek in Merzouga.
3. The cooking class in Essaouira at Khadija’s Kuzina.

Hotel Reviews
Chez Ichou
Dades Gorge

The food was exceptional and the service, was by far, the best in all Morocco.

Authenticity & Character
Charming little boutique hotel in a beautiful part of Morocco.
Location
Beautifully located next to a stream where the sounds of running water were the first thing that you heard in the morning.
Staff
The staff were, by far, the best trained, that we encountered in our entire stay in Morocco and the food was exceptional.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Spacious bedroom and bathroom with a lovely balcony overlooking the river. Our laundry was washed and ironed and returned to us, timeously.
Merzouga Dunes Camps
Merzouga

Disappointing....

Authenticity & Character
Better general management of the accommodation as well as the food.
Location
We were very disappointed with the quad bikes and vehicles that drove at speed close to the camp and close to the camels while trekking in and out of camp.
Staff
A bit chaotic! We were so relieved when our tour manager, Sallam, arrived to check if we were ok.
Cleanliness & Comfort
The pipe to the basin tap was leaking badly and there was water all over the floor

Hi Dirk,

We are so happy that you enjoyed your 16 days in Morocco traveling with Sallam! We are glad that, generally, the trip met your expectations and we are particularly happy to read your rave reviews of Chez Ichou in Boumalne Dades. That is one of our favorite places and we are always happy to read that others enjoyed it there, too. We are also glad that you enjoyed your hike in Akchour, your cooking class in Essaouira, and the camel trek in the desert. We also appreciate the feedback regarding the SUVs and quads that you encountered there - we know that this can be a problem during the busy times of year and we did pass on your feedback to the management team of the camp (even though the vehicles of note were not from that particular camp). With that exception, though, we are happy that Morocco exceeded your expectations in many ways and that your journey was relaxed and pleasant.

So, thanks again. Take care and keep in touch!
Sharon, Sallam, and the rest of the Morocco Immersion family
