Settle into life in Iceland with two days in the family-friendly capital city of Reykjavík, and get your first taste of the country's dramatic landscapes with a hike inside the ice tunnels and blue caves of Langjökull. Then you and the gang will drive north to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula to discover "Little Iceland's" towering Mount Kirkjufell and the lava fields of Búðahraun. Before leaving the peninsula, embark on a whale watching tour from Ólafsvík, then it's back on the road, through the Berserkjahraun lava field, and on a ferry to Brjánslækuryour to check into your hotel in Patreksfjörður.
Over the following four days, you'll take in the many remarkable landscapes of the Westfjords. As a family, travel by tractor to a seal colony on the sands of Rauðasandur, visit the small villages of Þingeyri and Bolungarvík and take in the views from Bolafjall Mountain. Back on the road, you'll drive east to Hólmavík, home to the Artic Fox Center and the perfect base to explore the Strandir region.
