Day 1: Arrive in Ajdovščina - Explore the Karst region
Welcome to Ajdovščina! After settling into your accommodation in this quaint town within the Karst region (and just a 10-minute drive from Vipava), you'll meet your guide to explore your surroundings. Drive passed farms and bucolic landscapes, stopping at a wine cellar in Vipava to sample local wines accompanied by prosciutto and cheese.
Day 2: Cycle the Vipava Valley - Tour the Škocjan Caves
This morning you'll hop on your bike for a cycling tour through the Vipava Valley. Ride through the countryside gaining a beautiful overview of the hills, colorful fields, and charming villages. Break for lunch where you will have the opportunity to sample authentic Slovenian food before carrying on to the breathtaking limestone Škocjan Caves. Stroll along the boardwalks through this stunning natural treasure and prepare to be blown away by the diverse cave system, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3: SUP excursion - Kozjak Falls hike - Drive to Ljubljana
This morning you'll make your way to the Soča River, known as the Emerald River for its intense turquoise waters, to begin your introductory stand up paddleboarding ("SUP") course. When you're ready, you'll balance yourself on your board and glide under centuries-old bridges and passing through cliffs to explore Slovenia from another perspective. There'll be time for a little rest on a beach followed by a hike to the stunning Kozjak Falls. Trek through the forested road noting the ever-changing landscape.
Upon reaching the impressive Soča Valley Gorge (Velika Korita) you'll have expansive views over the river canyon as well as views to the Slovenian Alps. Enjoy local fare up in the Alpine mountains before continuing your journey to the capital of Ljubljana. After settling into your accommodation take the rest of the evening to explore the neighborhood.
Day 4: SUP excursion in Ljubljana; Depart
After breakfast, slip into your swimsuit and head to the Ljubljanica River for a morning paddle—and a unique way to experience the capital. After the SUP tour, spend your free afternoon (if you have time before your departure) exploring the lively city center and saunter down the main street along the banks of the Ljubljanica River, stopping in whatever small boutique, outdoor café, or wine bar terrace that strikes your fancy.
