Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive - Transfer to Lagos
Welcome to the Algarve. Meet your private chauffeur at the Faro airport before driving an hour west to the charming town of Lagos. Settle into your accommodation and take the rest of the day to explore Lagos' quirky streets.
Day 2: Sail to Sagres
Spend today on a sailing adventure to Sagres. Along the way, you will pass stunning views of the Portuguese coastline, including secluded beaches and hidden caves, waiting for you to explore. You will have the chance to paddleboard, snorkel, and relax on the deck, breathing in the fresh salty air of the Atlantic.
As the sun sets, savour an authentic Portuguese dinner, cooked by your private chef, before being lulled to sleep to the sounds of the ocean from the comfort of your cabin.
Day 3: Explore Cabo de São Vicente - Join a sunset Jeep safari
Wake up to the sound of waves and seabirds before enjoying your chef-made breakfast onboard. Reach land and visit Cabo de São Vicente, the most southwesterly point of Europe. From there, say goodbye to the crew and check in to your pousada in Sagres, an easy five-minute walk from the beach.
In the afternoon, join an off-roading Jeep safari to explore the stunning west coast. Admire the breathtaking views of the ocean and hidden beach spots, made all the more special with the changing sky as the sun sets.
Chat with a local specialist who can help organize your trip.
Day 4: Horseback riding in São Vicente - Free afternoon
Take the morning to explore the São Vicente natural parks on horseback where you will learn about local flora and fauna. There are over 750 species, 12 of which are endemic to the area. If you are lucky, you may spot wild birds like the Peregrine Falcon and the Alpine Swift.
The afternoon is yours to spend as you choose. Explore the towering cliffs, relax on one of the many beaches, or if you're feeling adventurous, take a surfing lesson.
Day 5: Fishing - Figueira nature walk
Today begins with a full morning of fishing. Meet your skipper at Sagres' Baleeira harbor and set sail. Learn the Portuguese art of fishing using hand lines, stopping for lunch to dine on your fresh caught fish prepared at a local restaurant.
Next, you will venture to Figueira, a typical Algarvian village, where your private guide will take you through its cobblestoned streets, highlighting sites of significance. From there, enjoy a mild nature walk over green slopes and through pinewoods, to the secluded beach of Praia da Figueira. Located in a quiet and isolated cove, you may just feel like your at the edge of the world.
Day 6: Rock climbing - Explore Salema
This morning you will meet your climbing instructor for rock climbing lessons in one of the most scenic climbing areas in Portugal. Admire beautiful views over the azure blue ocean, your climbing accentuated by the sound of waves and fresh salty air.
After lunch, explore Salema, a typical Algarvian village where fishermen still mend their nets by hand. Wander beyond the village for your chance to find preserved dinosaur footprints in the rocks.
Day 7: Depart
Depending on your departure details, you may wish to complete any last minute souvenir shopping. Catch your return flight home saying farewell to the Algarvian coast with one last look of the impressive Ria Formosa from your airplane window.
