Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at the Kinabatangan River
Welcome to Borneo! Spend your first morning driving through jungle and boating up the Kinabatangan River to a remote jungle lodge—your home for the next few days. Arrive at the lodge, settle in, and enjoy lunch. Then spend some time relaxing and exploring the lodge's wooden pathways and decks before boarding an afternoon river cruise to search for wildlife. Circle back just before sunset (and don't forget your camera - jungle sunsets are something special). Then, if you're still feeling adventurous, head out on foot or by boat to search for nocturnal jungle animals.
Day 2: River Cruise & Kelenanap Oxbow Lake Hike
Get ready for another day of nature photography, birdwatching, and jungle strolls—and start early with a wildlife cruise that departs at 6 am. Keep your cameras at the ready; this area is perfect for spotting pygmy elephants, Sumatran rhinos, Wallace's hawk eagles, orangutans, and proboscis monkeys. The cruise will take you up the river to Kelenanap Oxbow Lake for a short jungle walk before circling back to the lodge for breakfast.
After lunch, spend some time exploring the lodge, the nearby village, or the surrounding jungle. Board another boat for another wildlife cruise. Then grab some dinner at the lodge before taking another night walk through the jungle or night cruise on the quiet river.

Day 3: River Cruise & Another Kelenanap Oxbow Lake Hike
Wake to the sounds of the surrounding jungle for another early morning cruise up the river to Kelenanap Oxbow Lake and another short jungle walk. Today's the perfect day to check those last elusive must-see animals off your list, get that perfect picture, and soak in as much of the jungle as possible before heading home tomorrow. After breakfast, more lodge and jungle exploration await, followed by an afternoon cruise, dinner, and another optional night walk or cruise.
Day 4: Depart
After breakfast and a relaxing morning, depart the lodge late morning and make your way home (or to your next destination).
