Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Botswana!
After your arrival, you will be met by your local representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day relaxing and preparing for adventure in the following days.
Day 2: Okavango Delta
The most rewarding and enjoyable way to experience the beauty of this intricate system of lily-covered channels and lagoons is by mokoro, a local canoe. After meeting your crew and fellow guests, you will be transferred by safari vehicle to the poling station (approximately one hour), where we will meet the polers who escort you into the Okavango Delta. The polers will steer you through the narrow, reed-lined channels that open out onto beautiful lagoons.
After reaching one of the many islands, go on a nature walk with your poler. After the walk, return to the mooring station by mokoro. While the mokoro trail is not primarily a game-viewing activity, you may see a variety of game along the way in this pristine wilderness area, including elephants, giraffes, kudu, impala, and zebras.
Day 3: Maun (Moremi Game Reserve)
If you've purchased the activity package, you will be collected from your hotel before first light to drive to the Moremi Game Reserve. As the lagoons and channels form a vital section of the Okavango Delta ecosystem, sightings of bird and animal populations will become more frequent as the day progresses. The game viewing routes that your professional guide choose will vary, especially when there are high floods, as certain roads may be closed or impassable.
If you haven't purchased the activity package, spend the day relaxing at your accommodation.
Chat with a local specialist who can help organize your trip.
Day 4: Nata
Leaving Maun, travel to the town of Nata today. Spend most of the day driving across the northern reaches of the Makgadikgadi Pans. In the afternoon, enjoy an afternoon guided game drive to the Nata Sanctuary, which is a breeding ground for a host of water birds, including pelicans and flamingos in their thousands.
Day 5: Chobe National Park
Rise early today as you continue north to the camp on the banks of the Chobe River.
This afternoon, explore the Chobe National Park. Begin in the back of 4×4 vehicles, which allow an up-close experience with the many elephants that visit the river in the afternoons. End the day with a leisurely boat cruise and a meal served around the campfire.
Day 6: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Cross the border into Zimbabwe this morning and travel the short distance to Victoria Falls. The spectacular Victoria Falls are also known by the local name of Mosi-oa Tunya (the smoke that thunders).
Much of today is dedicated to viewing the mighty Zambezi River as it drops into the Batoka Gorge below. The bustling adventure town of Victoria Falls also offers a range of optional activities for those wanting a dose of adrenaline in the afternoon. For the more relaxed traveler, there are craft markets and coffee shops too.
Tonight, enjoy an optional dinner out. Your guide will help choose from the many options available.
Day 7: Victoria Falls
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast. With the many activities available in Victoria Falls, you can continue your adventure in a way that suits your interests. Whether rafting the mighty Zambezi River or enjoying a flight over the falls, this is your day to enjoy the many attractions on offer in Victoria Falls.
