Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Bangkok, Transfer to Ko Lipe
Welcome to Thailand! Upon arrival in Bangkok, you'll board another short flight to Trang airport, the gateway to the island of Ko Lipe. From here, a transfer will take you to Hat Yao Pier where you'll board a ferry to one of the most beautiful islands in the southern part of Thailand. Ko Lipe is a small tropical island, approximately 2.2. miles (3.5 km) in length and 1.5 miles (2.5 km) in width, so you can easily get around on foot and by bicycle.
When you're settled at your hotel, venture out to one of the stunning beaches on the island. A good place to start is Pattaya Beach where you can go for a swim and then sip a cocktail at Monkey Bar, Heaven Bar, or the Islander Sea Sports Bar. If you're feeling rusty after the journey, there are good massage parlors along Walking Street, or head to Salisa Health Massage offering sea views at Sunrise Beach. Or, watch an amazing sunset at Sunset Beach with a cool beer in hand. For dinner with a view, head to one of the restaurants on the island like On The Rocks.Day 2: Sea Kayak to Ko Kra
A memorable way to start your first morning on the island is by taking a sunrise walk at Sunrise Beach. Witness the sky glow with orange, pink, and purple hues as another day begins in paradise.Chat with a local specialist who can help organize your trip.
Day 3: Volunteer with Trash Hero
Today is your chance to give back to Ko Lipe when you spend a morning with a local environmental community initiative called Trash Hero. Each week, Trash Hero leads a clean-up mission to one of the islands near Ko Lipe. It's free to join—just show up at Walking Street on Pattaya Beach and look for the local volunteers in bright yellow Trash Hero shirts. Together you'll take a long-tail boat to a beach, and with some instructions, a glove, and a trash bag, you'll set off in search of rubbish, from straws to water bottles, to help keep Ko Lipe beautiful.
Day 4: Sunrise Yoga, Batik Workshop
Today you can find your flow with a morning yoga class, designed to help you find calm, embrace nature, and quiet any inner noise. Listen to the waves and focus on nature's sounds as you find peace, inner strength, and positive energy.
Day 5: Snorkeling in the Adang Archipelago
Today you'll have the entire day to explore the Adang Archipelago when you visit the unspoiled, undeveloped islands and deserted beaches nearby. Spend your day snorkeling in crystal clear waters, wandering tall pine forests, and relaxing on the shore. You can choose to either join scheduled trips or charter your own private boat. Either way, your captain will navigate you to hidden beaches throughout the national park where you'll have free time to snorkel in different coral reefs teeming with clownfish, groupers, and tropical fish.
Day 6: Meditation at Wat Hantalay Temple
Wake up early this morning to clear your mind and relax your body with a meditation session at Wat Hantalay, the only Buddhist temple on Ko Lipe Island. Enjoy a walk to the simple and small temple and sit quietly to de-clutter your chattering thoughts and take a journey into mindfulness. After the practice is the "Alms Giving Ceremony," a small, private event for you to donate flowers, snacks, fruits, and money to the monks. They will use it to help residents in need and renovate temples. Afterward, enjoy the afternoon as you wish.
Day 7: Day Trip to Ko Tarutao
Today, you'll boat to the unspoiled and remote island paradise of Ko Tarutao, the largest island in the Tarutao National Maritime Park. Here you'll find quiet sandy beaches, lush old-growth jungles, mangroves, and plenty of peace and tranquility. The island was once used as a concentration camp for political prisoners, but is now protected and preserved by the government with minimal development. Spend your day here sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. You can also follow inland trails on foot or by bike.
Day 8: Transfer to Bangkok, Depart
It's time to make the return journey to Bangkok. An early transfer will take you to the boat, then another driver will pick you up and take you to Trang airport for the short flight to Bangkok. If you have time before your international flight, a driver can take you sightseeing. Safe travels!More Great Thailand Itineraries
