I love traveling and it's my lifelong passion, and I am happy to share my experiences with fellow travelers. That is the reason I became a travel consultant and never got tired of this routine even after 9 years. Originally from Myanmar, I have seen many beautiful and fascinating places in my country, which I introduced to many clients and am very proud of. Apart from Myanmar, my favorite destinations are Thailand and Bali in Southeast Asia and I am thrilled to be one of the local experts in Thailand. What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I specialized in most parts of Thailand from the North to Southern islands and East to West border. I love to recommend less tourists yet worth visiting destinations like Mae Salong, Kanchanaburi, Sukhothai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Khao Luang, Khao Sok, Khao Lak, Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Kood, Koh Libong, and Koh Lipe.

Since I mainly focus on sustainable and community-based tourism, I also specialized in activities like homestay, trekking, and hiking, animal welfare activities like bird watching, and elephant care, sustainable activities like plogging and tea plantation, and slow travel activities like yoga, and meditation, and alms giving ceremony. "

How did you get involved in travel?

"I didn’t know what I would be doing after I graduated, until the senior year of my master's degree in 2014. My mom wanted me to join her as a teacher when I graduated, but I knew that it was not something I wanted to go for. I think I've been craving to see and experience new places and want to challenge something out of my comfort zone.

At that time, one of my friends was working as a travel guide and she introduced me to the world of tourism. And I found that it was a fantastic career that you travel and get paid for. That was my first encounter with the travel industry and I shortly became part of it as soon as I graduated.

When I started, I joined as an operation executive where I learned to arrange and book everything for clients including checking the routing and problem-solving. This is an important step for me to become a specialist now. Also, problem-solving skill is not something you can easily achieve and I am grateful that I met different people and learned about their unique and diverse nature. Thanks to this, I got the chance to experience every kind of issue and how to deal with it smart. This truly helped me to become a skillful specialist today. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"When I came to Thailand for the first time, I didn’t know the language or people. Even though I don’t speak Thai, the people here are kind enough to communicate in body language and help me in many different ways. And I was lucky enough to visit Khao Yai together with local friends at that time. Khao Yai is a famous vacation place for Thai people which they always visit during winter time to feel the cold. It is a nearby mountainous area and just a 3-hour drive away from Bangkok.

At first, I was just invited to a family party on Christmas Eve. After the party, they decided to go to Khao Yai the next day spontaneously and invited me to join them. Finally, I ended up sleeping at their house that night. The next day, we drive to Khao Yai through beautiful lanes and colorful trees. I was really surprised that how come they took a stranger like me on their trip because I met them only 2 times before the trip. They took care of me as best they could. I felt warm and thankful for their kindness and it was just an incredible experience that I've ever had in Thailand.

After the trip, I realized that although the choice of destination is important, good experiences matter the most to become a beautiful and memorable trip. And that is the reason I am trying my best to bring every good experience to each destination when I help travelers plan their trips. And I am really really happy when they love it."

Our trip to Southern Thailand was an amazing experience and Tina was great to work with. We decided on a trip previously recommended on Kimkim and even added a couple of days to include the Khoa Sok National Park area. Private transfers between the airport and all accommodations were extremely comfortable. The hotel accommodations were memorable experiences. Our trip to Southern Thailand was an amazing experience and Tina was great to work with. We decided on a trip previously recommended on Kimkim and even added a couple of days to include the Khoa Sok National Park area. Private transfers between the airport and all accommodations were extremely comfortable. The hotel accommodations were memorable experiences. We highly recommend Beyond Skywalk Nangshi and the Pullman Khoa Lak Resort. The views at Beyond are breathtaking and entertaining watching people posing for social media on the skywalk. The staff is so nice and the food was excellent. We stayed in one of the Seaview tents and we highly recommend them. The Pullman Khoa Lak Resort was one of the best stays we've ever had. We had deluxe king room with private pool access (one of the limited rooms with it's own pool not connected to the larger pool, which we HIGHLY recommend). The room was clean, spacious, and luxurious. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was vast and plentiful. The infinity pool faced an amazing beach and sunset. The resort is located about 20 minutes north of the main tourist Khoa Lak area so you're in a more secluded and private area.
In the Khoa Sok area, we stayed in a more rustic accommodation at Khoa Sok Boutique Hideway. The stay was less posh but the experience was memorable. Tina made us aware her ideal accommodations were limited and already fully booked.
Tina booked us a few experiences along the way. Kayaking in the mangroves is a must-do. We met locals and our guide, Uhm (sp?), was amazing. We did a long tail boat ride to a secluded beach after a local lunch. This trip was about 45 minutes from the Beyond Nangshi accommodation. We do not recommend the fishing trip. It was 2 hours each was from Beyond Nangshi as it was out of the tourist pier in Phuket. We left at 6:30am and didn't get home until almost 7pm. Tina said others complained about the timing of the trip so we were surprised we had the same experience. We thought it was going to be a local fishing trip for a few hours near where we were staying.
Our private guided hiking trip in the Khoa Sok National Park was great. Tee was a great guide, although his English wasn't very good (he admitted this). He gave us a very memorable day showing up the park during our 7 mile hike. He made us rings and tea cups out he cut and carved from bamboo. He took us to a secluded swimming hole where we had fresh pineapple riverside. The area of Thailand is beautiful and highly recommended. We could have explored the area for several more days.
Lastly, we wanted a Thai cooking experience and Tina delivered with Wandee's Pakinnaka Cooking School. We started with a visit to a local market, which was an experience and educational on it own. We made delicious Thai dishes and learned so much about the food and culture. This is definitely a must-do.
The overall experience of working with Tina exceeded our expectations. We cannot wait to visit Thailand again.

In Phuket the all day Island and canoe tour was fabulous. The local food at all these activities was amazing! We would not hesitate to plan another trip with KimMim. Kudos also to our guides Lena and Marty! They were great!!! Thanks for a wonderful vacation!!!!!

Our guide Marty was great! We had already been to the Night Market earlier so Marty switched gears and we went to the Chinese New Years street festival and also the market. Great food and great fun. He also arranged for us to travel by Tuk Tuk! That was a fun experience!!!

Plus: The river trip after dark was truly amazing! The views with the lights and the other boats passing was really beautiful. I can't say enough good things about this tour! We had a wonderful time. The lagoons and caves were breathtaking. We loved everything about it. We couldn't believe how great the food was. We had lunch, mid day snacks and a beautiful buffet dinner. I had to go down to the galley to congratulate the ladies who prepared it. I was a caterer for many years and they did an amazing job. The flower arranging component was interesting and educational. We would highly recommend this activity!

I had an amazing experience with all the touring. Our tour guides are very accommodating and most are on time. They respected our time and they made sure to take a photo of us, I’m guessing this is a proof that we got picked up and dropped off 😊
The only comment and recommendation I have for the tour is to let the travelers know that there are shops in the tour area and that cash must to have as there is no ATM machine or use of credit cards available in the tour area/ destination.... Read more

There’s not that many places to eat but there’s a small business center that has a good massage.

Very clean and sophisticated design. On spot massage and the front desk staff Micheal made are stay even more satisfying and comfortable even for only night. The only thing is the traffic, because it’s a busy area and the street are narrow.

The hotel is located in the Main Street which is busy and a busload of guys are happened to there when we were staying. First, they made a mistake giving us a wrong reservation room which they moved us to another room that smells smoke. The hallway is very narrow and small so while waiting for the elevator you can hear the conversation from all the rooms adjacent to the elevator. I like the most was the bathroom that has a window view.

You can tell the ship/boat is aging but they kept it clean and organized. The 17 crew member and the manager/captain done a tremendously well on the journey. The captain/ manager is well English and well spoken, he is very knowledgeable about the tour and history. Very accommodating to request and mandate. Some diverse groups are stubborn but he was able to hold his guard well and kept it up as planned. The only thing that I can see is that was a constant concern and struggle with the crew’s are getting everyone a hot water request and getting the coffee hot and ready on time. This is something to improve to the services needed in the journey to make everyone happy and comfortable drinking their coffee. 😊 especially in very cold morning and night.

Nice hotel on the river but i would not say this is a five star hotel. Staff great, Nice hotel, clean but far removed . If i was to stay in Kanachanburi again i would stay closer to the waterfalls as this is the only thing to do, which was great.

Another highlight was our trip to the elephant sanctuary. Bang (Pang?), our tour guide was great. with great communication skills and a wicked sense of humor. Loved this excursion. Loved interacting with the elephants and learning about the sanctuary.

Our trip to the national park outside of Chiang Mai was enjoyable. Patrick, our tour guide, was very nice and friendly but his communication skills were somewhat disappointing. We were eager to learn about the area but were frustrated by the language barrier.

The speed boat trip in Phuking was okay, but I suspect it was for a younger age group. My wife and I are seniors. The tour guide spent a lot of time barking orders and yelling but little time telling us about the area. It was loud and over crowded. Not a highlight.

All hotels were good but the best was the Heritage 99 in Chiang Mai. Great staff, great food, great service.

Let me start with the food provided by hotels Matilda and Laluna Hoi An: awesome breakfast especially Laluna! We enjoyed it very much. The food on the cruise to Bai Tu Long Bay were amazing too. I feel the 2nd day of cruise at Bai Tu Long Bay should have more content. There was 2 hours of downtime on the smaller boat where there was no activity. The Lantern boat ride on Hoai River was disappointing. It was really a 30 minutes activity but we had to meet up with the tour guide way... Read more

Let me start with the food provided by hotels Matilda and Laluna Hoi An: awesome breakfast especially Laluna! We enjoyed it very much. The food on the cruise to Bai Tu Long Bay were amazing too.

I feel the 2nd day of cruise at Bai Tu Long Bay should have more content. There was 2 hours of downtime on the smaller boat where there was no activity.

The Lantern boat ride on Hoai River was disappointing. It was really a 30 minutes activity but we had to meet up with the tour guide way too early. We then put paper lantern with a candle onto the river—it pollutes the environment. I would not recommend this activity.

For Mekong Delta, we only went to 2 islands. There was really not much to see in either island so I don’t recommend this activity either.

Overall, a great trip and thanks to Tina for her planning and prompt responses.

To start out, I had 10 people for our travel group! Who really wants to book for everyone single-handed????? NOT I. I’ve never traveled with a “tour” Itinerary and Was Hesitant to book it initially. Our coordinator Tina (a Thailand based travel agent) with Kim Kim went above and beyond my requests.
I had an idea of what I wanted to do with the group and Tina helped me arrange everything and then some.
We started in Bangkok, Thailand and ended in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. For the amount of US dollars we spent for the entire trip (a little under $2100 US dollars per person) it included 14 nights lodging, 15 breakfasts, three in-country local flights, airport transfers, and 9 excursions with pick-up+drop off from the hotel!!! Crazy affordable for American standards!
The service staff in all places went above and beyond! Not only were they so prideful about their jobs, but they were happy to provide the services that the job required of them. From the airport greeters to the hotel concierge to the tour guide guides etc, everyone had big grins on their faces when in contact with us. Those were greatly appreciated after a long day of traveling. Whenever I had questions about/before/during the trip, I was put at ease with Tina’s answers and solutions. I 98% trust Kim Kim for my future group travels (there’s always a little window for margin of errors LOL) and will use them again. Again, THANKS TINA!!!

I would only recommend spending a little more money for lodging in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City when going to Vietnam. Their 4-star ratings do not compare to our American 4-star ratings. The Veranda Lodge in Hua Hin, Thailand, The LaLuna Hotel/Spa in Hoi Anh, Vietnam and The Signature Cruise Line for Bai Tu Long Bay, Vietnam were cute, spacious, and located centrally for easy access to eateries and shopping. Those three lodgings had the most amazing breakfast buffets! All very convenient when having 10 people in your group! For hotels, I Google map searched the location and viewed most recent reviews. That definitely helped with deciding on which hotel to stay with if I hadn’t agreed to whatever Tina had chose for us.

We did the 2-Day. It was nice to have an extra day of relaxing, but pretty much the same landscape everywhere. The one day excursion was definitely a great experience. The first night’s dinner was amazing! The second night’s dinner was horrible, not edible whatsoever- A lot of not fresh squid and overcooked barbecue ribs (weird combo for sure).

This hotel has a great location, but because it is in the heart of HCMC, it is very loud. WE ONLY GOT 2 TO 3 HOURS OF MILD CITY NOISE FOR SLEEP and that is with my earplugs in. The buffet is more of a “deluxe continental breakfast” for American Standards. The hotel staff were excellent.

The lantern boat ride in Hoi An was disappointing. The river was already nasty so adding more pollution with paper candle lanterns seemed pointless as they just sink and pollute further. Although people were sweet and kind, this wasn't an activity we would repeat.

The Mekong Delta tour felt more like a marketing scheme than an authentic experience. We expected to visit countryside farms but were met with a series of sales pitches. The fruit also wasn't freshly harvested like we expected.

The three-day cruise could have been better done in two days. The first two days offered kayaking and hiking, but the third day was mostly repetitive with little to do. The second night's dinner was disappointing and not edible, despite a fantastic dinner the first night.

The Hanoi city tour with food tasting was a great experience. Although we weren't expecting a historical walking tour, it was informative and our guide was wonderful. The food tour part was also impressive.
