Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Cuiabá - Transfer to Poconé
Welcome to Brazil! When you land at the Marechal Rondon International Airport (CGB) in Cuiabá, a driver will be waiting to transfer you to Poconé. Located in the Pantanal region, this area is home to the largest concentration of wildlife in South America, and it is the best place for visitors to observe wildlife in Brazil.
After a two-hour drive, you will arrive at your accommodation and have dinner.
Day 2: Sunrise Boat Tour - Transfer to Porto Jofre
After breakfast, you will join a group and go watch the sunrise over the Pantanal. Then, you will board a boat and sail along the Claro River in search of birds and other animals.
After stopping to have lunch on the shore, you will get in a private transfer and ride further into the Pantanal toward Porto Jofre, where you will stay for the next two nights. After you check in, you will be able to have dinner and relax for the rest of the evening.
Chat with a local specialist who can help organize your trip.
Day 3: Boat Safari
Today, you will take a wildlife expedition to see jaguars in the Pantanal, the largest tropical wetland in the world. You will board a small speedboat at dawn for the best chance to spot jaguars, and you will explore the Paraguay River in search of this elusive animal.
Over the course of the day, you will likely see alligators, giant otters, capybaras, iguanas, jabiru storks, gulls and other species that inhabit the Pantanal biome, which is the most biodiverse in the world.
After the tour and, hopefully, many jaguar sightings, you will return to the pousada and relax for the night.
Day 4: Boat Safari - Transfer to Poconé
After breakfast, you will board another speedboat for another stage of your wildlife tour. Today, you might see howler and capuchin monkeys, green anacondas, wild pigs, deer, piranha, or giant anteaters. You will spend a few hours exploring the region with your guide before returning to your accommodation for lunch.
After lunch and checkout, you will transfer to another fazenda located in a different region of the Transpantaneira. When you arrive and check in, you will have time to relax, have dinner, and explore the grounds. You might want to take advantage of the excellent star-gazing or enjoy the sounds of the nocturnal animals.
Day 5: Free Day in Poconé
Today, you will be free to choose your own outdoor activities like horseback riding, safari drives, birdwatching expeditions, and guided nature walks. The fazenda will have plenty of planned activities that you can join, and all of them are centered on the lush natural surroundings of the Pantanal. If you'd prefer, you can have a more relaxed day and enjoy the pool.
Day 6: Departure via Cuibá
It's time to say goodbye to Brazil! After your last breakfast, a driver will pick you up at your accommodation and transfer you to the airport in Cuiabá for your flight home.
