We had a wonderful experience with our trip to Cairo. It was relatively last minute, and Amr was great in working with us to make sure that we saw what we wanted within our budget. On the ground in Cairo, Mohammed was wonderful with helping us with our arrival and departure from the airport, including making sure that our visas were all handled properly and quickly. Mina also greeted us upon arrival to ensure that we made it safely into to city and to our airport.

The majority of our time was spend with our wonderful driver, Hassan, and our wonderful guide, Hagar. Both were always extremely punctual. We don't know what we would have done with Hassan getting us around as we would not have been up for driving! He made our trip very safe and comfortable. Hagar was an incredible source of information on Egyptian history and culture, and she was a pleasure to spend time with in general. She was very attentive to our needs and requests (for example, she adapted our original itinerary so that we could visit the Khan El-khalili Bzaar, which was not part of the original plan), she always anticipated our wanting water, coffees, snacks, etc., and she always made sure to ask that we were seeing everything that we wanted and getting all of the information that we were curious about and more.

We were in Cairo for such a short visit that we will definitely need to return, and we would hope to work with the same group again.

We had a great adventure with our guide Lina and driver Mohammad! Everything was so well planned. This was important since we didn't have much time in Cairo. I highly recommend working with Sherif for a customized trip.

I looked at several agencies that provided tours in Egypt and decided on kimkim. I just wanted to say, my husband Gav and I were thrilled with our guides, & drivers and our meet and greets at the airports and facilitating the checking into the hotels. You made this such a breeze for us, and we couldn't have asked for a better company to provide. Our guide in Cairo - Rohnna (Ronnie) was outstanding, her knowledge and enthusiasm for her job was fabulous. Ronnie's English was excellent, and we gained a lot of insight from her. We travelled to Luxor where we were met again at the airport and introduced to Michael our guide for the Luxor/ Aswan part of our trip. Michael was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and his English language was A+. We had great drivers as well. The company representatives who met us at each destination, Mohammad and Zain and another whom we met only briefly so I can't recall his name were wonderful and very helpful and always made sure everything was going to plan. Tipping was expected everywhere and for everything and I was given a guide for amounts which was really helpful prior to arriving so it wasn't a shock. So thankyou once again for making our Egypt tour amazing. I would highly recommend kimkim.

Amazing, but it was really hot. Would definitely recommend. We should've gone to Tutankhamun's tomb though that was a mistake not to see that even though it was extra, we probably should have been told prior to entering the Valley of the Kings that was when we needed to decide.

Visit Philae temple & High Dam - Felluca ride

We didnt visit the Philae temple as we had a long journey in the car from Luxor to Aswan, so didn't feel up to another 6 hours driving. Our Felluca ride was a bit disappointing as there was no wind, so we were towed basically along the Nile

Visit Abu Simbel and Nubian Village

This was interesting to visit. It would be one of the highlights visiting this temple. We visited the Nubian village which was a colorful experience. Got to understand their way of life. We also got to swim in the Nile which was amazing.

Day tour to visit Grand Egyptian Museum, Citadel of Salah El-Din & Old Cairo

The Cairo Museum was incredible and a must to see. Also gaining some factual information about the Cital of Salah El- Din was really good too as we gained insights into the Muslim religion we never knew. Old Cairo town is also a must and whilst there we visited the place where Jesus lived for several months as a young boy. That was an incredible experience given our Christian faith.

An unforgettable trip, and every person involved in the planning and execution of this trip went above and beyond.
Our luggage went missing on the arriving flight, and the tour group representatives Mahmoud and Zin did everything they could to help retrieve our luggage and communicated on a daily basis with what needed to be done. They spent the extra time working with the airlines while we were able to enjoy the tours.
The itinerary was perfectly planned, and we were able to easily add on extra excursions as we went along.
The tour guides Sameh and Michael were very knowledgeable, spoke english very well, and were very willing to help ensure we had the best experience during our stay. We enjoyed every tour we went on. Each excursion and location was a new breathtaking experience.

We had a great trip to Egypt and Jordan and truly enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed the Pyramids and Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, and a Nile river cruise down to Aswan and then a trip to Abu Simbel. Afterward, we flew to Jordan for a few days enjoying Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. Mohamed provided excellent help while booking the trip and answered questions, provided us with opportunities, and was responsive to our needs. We had a variety of tour guides while on the trip and enjoyed our guide in Cairo/Alexandria Mohamed, and had a fantastic time with Eslam on our cruise. In Jordan, our driver was a standout and made the time. The company picked us up promptly every day and had such great drivers and tour guides that it took the guesswork out of this trip and put us at ease.

Were I to book this trip a 2nd time I'd get a better sense of the pace - we were exhausted by the time we departed Egypt but this is because of how much we tried to cram into the trip. Many days started at 4 am and it would have been great to realize this ahead of time. I am very thankful that we booked this trip through an agent like Sun Pyramids as we don't think we would have successfully navigated Egypt on our own. My only suggestion would be if the companies could provide some guidance on tipping. We found advice across the internet to vary wildly and felt varying degrees of differing pressure. We have no idea if we under or over-tipped. We made lifelong memories with our family and were thankful for the experience - my son who has a particular fascination with Egyptology is hoping to return once the new museum in Cairo is open. A great experience!

This trip was well-organized and managed by kimkim and Sun Pyramid Tours. Everything went without a hitch - we were well cared for every step of the way. Drivers and guides were timely and efficient. They handled every question and concern we had. A great way to travel!

Our primary guide, Khalid, was truly an expert and exuded the confidence necessary for a group unfamiliar with travel to Egypt. The overnight accommodations traveling down the Nile with the opportunity to wade in this infamous body of water was one of the many highlights of the trip. The boat’s crew were beyond outstanding. It’s hard for me to believe that just a short time ago, I rode a camel up Mt. Sinai, climbed through a pyramid, was in the Valley of the Kings, saw the Aswan Dam , crossed the Suez Canal, walked along the Alley of Sphinxes, and more.

Our tour guides were amazing. Very knowledgeable. Patient spoke perfect English kind. I highly recommend them.

From the moment we cleared customs in Cairo, until the moment we said goodbye to our guide in Amman, we were totally spoiled by the best guides and drivers.

Khaled was far the best guide we had ever had compared to past trips. He was kind, cordial, professional, fluent in English, exceptional knowledgeable in the Egyptian culture and all the places we attended. He was outstanding! Relied on him for other ideas and assistance in obtaining information we needed and he came through with flying colors! I give him 5 stars plus! He deserves a raise! Day Tour to Pyramids, Sphinx & Sakkara and Dahshour

It was amazing to see these sites, the ancient Pyramids, the Spynx & more. We felt in awe that they are still around all these years. The weather was 104, but the breeze was cool and it didn’t affect us that much, as our guide made sure we were there early before it became too hot. Unusual for this time of year we were told.

Early morning adventure, but well worth it! The sacred place was one of the best experience we could have imagined. Using the camels was far better than I thought it would be, so serene and the stars were so mesmerizing! Thank you Khaled for this recommendation!The camels made the climb easier, and the rest of it was up to us! To be where Moses received the 10 commandments couldn’t be any better experience! Love the sunrise as well, (especially with the camels) breathtaking, was very spiritual experience.

The temples/ tomb of Hatshepsut very impressive especially the stories that as a woman she chose to dress as a man or be masculine at times, but, she also brought great wealth and artistry to her land. Of course, King Tut, you must be sure to go in to that tomb site. Amazing to see King Tut inside as well as some of the carvings/drawing on the walls depicting some of his life missions. The other temples/ tombs and Pharoahs were all of interest having their own legacy of fascinating stories. You don't want to miss these fascinating tombs. At one point we also saw the famous Dam that helps the Nile maintains an even flow throughout Egypt. We also enjoyed the workshop on alabaster, papyrus and healing herbs.

Yes, all the crew, especially the captain were amazing, helpful to those who are novice at snorkeling, and the captain added so much more, it was a great adventure. I was grateful I had an underwater camera, as I captured some beautiful shots of fish and coral, as well as video taped the, and was able to use the camera under water as well as land.

Excellent Hotel, recommend Safir Water falls hotel, a beautiful place and on the Red Sea where you can rent your snorkeling to swim around the area and see colorful fish. Food is buffet style, variety and great tasting. The hotel has multiple pools for leisure and lovely areas to relax by the sea as well as a great spa. The rooms are beautiful and the service is great. Everyone greets you with kindness and they are helpful when you need assistance. They do have a doctor on site, which was great because some of our passengers had serious colds and were taken care of immediately. Close to the old market and Farsha Cafe is a must place to see during day and evening. It is on the Red Sea and has multi-levels. Variety of drinks are served, with music and so much more.

Great adventure heading to Alexandria from Cairo, only about 2 1/2 hours away. Relaxing and enjoyed the sites that we saw. The Catacomb was amazing, as well as the Pompeii Pillar with artifacts from Cleopatra's Palace and the Old Lighthouse which are both underwater due to an Earthquake, however you can see some of the pillars, underwater. Lunch on the Mediterranean Sea Fish Market-amazing lunch. Beautiful water and relaxing. The Citadel was also fantastic to see as well the walk around the area, found the perfect gift for my grandson, turned 4 on the day I bought it!

The transportation was great

Going through kimkim made planning the trip so much simpler. I told them what we wanted and they made the necessary arrangements. It was nice not having to research hotels, activities, or transportation. It took a few days, even a week at times to get a response through the website regarding our trip, but they were able to provide satisfactory answers to my questions before we began our trip. It was my first time traveling to Egypt, so I was unaware of the checkpoints and permits required when leaving the cities to places like the Giza Plateau or the Sphynx. The specialists and guides ensured that all the required permits and information were already provided, so that when we were stopped it was just a minor delay (we didn't have to anything, the driver and our guide handled all the interactions). For all of our excursions we were met in the lobby of our hotel by our specialist. This is very important, because I made the mistake of thinking the taxi outside the hotel was our transfer to the airport. It was not! So I ended up paying almost $50USD for something that was already arranged. Our specialist contacted me after we left, alerting me that they were in the lobby waiting for us. I explained that it was my error and not theirs. They remined me that a representative would always meet us in person in the hotel lobby each time. About halfway through our trip we decided to change some of the experiences we originally paid for. After some communication the kimkim team was able to accommodate our requests and change our itinerary.

Overall Egypt was an incredible place to visit. The history is legendary and to see first-hand the Sphynx, Giza Plateau, Valley of the Kings, and the thousands of artifacts in the museums was incredible! The only note of caution I have is that when you travel to these places, there will be lots of people wanting to help you (maybe to get a better view or a better picture, or to offer to take a picture for you). They are generally polite, but very pushy. If you allow them to assist you in any way they will ask for compensation. If they assist you and you refuse I've had them follow me through the area (we were in the tombs at the Valley of the Kings) or bring out their "boss" who simply wants me to take care of their "employees" (this was at the Giza Plateau). Sometimes they will hand you trinkets for "free" but then pester you for a donation. We refused them and the person literally placed them in our hands and then asked for money. Even in some gift shops someone will offer to help you and in return they'll ask for a commission after paying for the merchandise. We're fairly polite so we were taken advantage of. To avoid this, simply don't allow them to assist you at all (don't let them touch anything of yours), and don't engage in any conversation with them.

Guides Lina and Aladdin were awesome! Loved seeing the Pyramids and Valley of the Kings. We were a little disappointed in the docking location of the Movenpick boat. We saw a number of other boats docked near the city center in Luxor, a much better location. We also had a very limited liquor selection on the boat. Food was awesome, staterooms very nice. Overall, the trip was very nice.

We started the discussion with Ibrahim, but then were in conversation with Amr. The local egyptologist guides were both amazing. Love Shaheen. She was very knowlegable and we really enjoyed with her. Our guide Kamal on the Nile cruise was also awesome.

Having a knowledgeable, attentive and trusted local guide with you when touring Egypt is a MUST. From the perspective of crime or personal safety, we felt completely secure at all times. However, there are nuances specific to airport procedures, visiting different sites, and poor signage, that make exploring on your own challenging at best.
Sherif was an incredible tour coordinator. While I was planning the trip from the US, he addressed my questions and dealt with changes in the itinerary promptly and accurately. After we arrived in Egypt, he was immidiately available via text AT ANY HOUR of the day with any issues, and was proactively making sure all our needs were being met. I would give Sherif's work my highest accolades.
From the second we arrived we came to appreciate the relief and joy of having a personal airport coordinator at each site. Mr. Ahmed made all the tranfers, E-visas, and luggage issues seamless and effortless. My husband and I travelled with 8-years old twins. For that resason, we planned our itinerary to include some well deserved beach relaxation at the end , after days of sightseeing . Our tour guides in Cairo was Ms. Lina. She was very knowledgeable, poised, and very gentle with kids. Lina's passion for Egyptology was contagious and made the kids jump with excitement. Our guide on the Nile cruise was Mr. Moataz. His attention to details and assertive style always allowed us to avoid the crowds, and get the best out of every excursion. Of course, it goes without a mention, that Mr. Moataz was an excellent guide, and has a great eye for photograpghy as an added bonus.
Egypt is HOT. Having a comfortable air conditioned van, with water bottles and snacks waiting for you the minute you need it is a luxury not to be discounted. All the drivers throughout the trip were corteous, accomodating and smiling, and the vans were impecably clean inside. Cleanliness was 5-star in all accomodations that Sherif has recommended, and the food also was good, tasty, and always fresh. All the packets of Pepto bismol were brought back home unoppened.
We had a wonderful trip. Thank you, Sherif and ALL the people who helped our family to have an unforgettable experience!

This trip was arranged by Ibrahim & Amr perfectly! We were a group of 15, all the sites, transport, guides were absolutely amazing. We selected the 'luxury' trip and it was exactly that, the hotels were out of this world, nothing less than 6 star. The dahabiya was beautiful and so relaxing. Mostafa, our Egypt guide was the best guide ever - he was so engaging, smart, knowledgeable about everything we saw - he made everything so relatable and so interesting. he has a wonderful sense of humour and got on so well with each of us. Akram, our guide in Jordan, was so kind and calm and knowledgeable and ensured we all enjoyed all our site visits in Jordan. This trip was a once in a lifetime trip and everyone loved it and will remember it forever. The contact from Ibrahim and his team was constant even once the trip started. From start to finish the experience was first class. Sherif managed to put a tour that was exactly what we needed. Excellent service from Mohammed and Ahmed at Cairo Airport where they made sure we had got through security and checked in as quickly as possible. Lina was our guide for Cairo pyramids and museum, very engaging tour and so knowledgeable. Ismail looked after us from Luxor to Aswan and was our tour guide. He again was so knowledgeable, friendly and funny and we learnt so much from him. The highlights were the Valley of the Kings, Karnack Temples but also mixed with many others at Edfu and Aswan that were all very different. Philae temple by boat was also very special.

We are very happy with the trip and looking forward to returning when I have more vacation time available. The Egypt based team handled everything for our small group. From hotel check-in & check-out, baggage handling, visa processing, and airport transfers, the Egypt Promotions team provided constant assistance through all of the processes from our arrival in Egypt, transfer to and from Jordan, and return to the U.S. We felt very safe, and confrontable the entire time in Egypt & Jordan. Our drivers and guides were always very personable, accommodating, and polite. All aspects of this tour meet or exceeded our expectations. I would also highly recommend our Egyptian guides Shenda Adel in Cairo and Ahmend based in Luxor. They were excellent resources for explaining the history and culture of Egypt and provided additional information on which sites or tombs would be of interest. It is always impressive to me when the Egyptologists reads the hieroglyphics that are inscribed on the walls in the temples while explaining the stories of the kings, queens, or gods. I would highly recommend to anyone to visit and experience the wonderful culture and history of Egypt and Jordan. I am looking forward to returning to continue learning about the history of these remarkable civilizations.

All of the sites on the typical Ancient Egypt tour were very impressive. Our group was primarily interested in the history of Egypt and the peoples that inhabited the Nile valley and the Levant.

We were very impressed when visiting the valley of the queens in addition to the valley of the kings. There were some very impressive tombs in the Valley of the Queens of the children of the Pharos. Another temple that I was not familiar with before the trip was Din Darah. This was almost as impressive as Karnak and I think should be added to the standard itinerary. Fortunately our Luxor based guide, Ahmed, suggested this temple complex when we were discussing what we were most interested in seeing during our time in upper and middle Egypt.

In Jordan, the ancient city of Petra was very impressive and required more than a day to hike to all of the different spots and visit the museum at the entrance of park that encompasses Petra.

I would also recommend visiting the Egyptian Civilization museum at the beginning of the trip. This will provide a condensed overview of the thousands of years of history that you will be able to explore while in Egypt. If you are not familiar with the history of Egypt, the exhibits will help you understand the significance of the sites you visit.

New and modern hotel located outside central Cairo. Spacious rooms, good food, and near the mall of Egypt should you need to purchase something that you forgot to pack. Selected this hotel since we were interested in visiting Saqqara/Memphis & Giza and wanted to avoid the traffic in central Cairo as much as possible. Only downside is that if you need to go into central Cairo, you will be joining the rush-hour traffic in the morning to visit the museums in the city.

This was a typical modern Hilton hote, could pass for a property in Europe or the US.

On a hilltop overlooking the town, although it takes a few minutes to drive to the entrance of Petra a shuttle was offered to guests so there was no issue for transportation. A very quite place to rest after a long day of hiking with all the needed amenities. Much closer than the Marriott to Petra

Modern hotel near the airport. Very close to the sites on the east side of the Nile River and the airport. Chose this hotel to avoid as much traffic as possible while visiting old Cairo and the civilization museum. The drive to the airport was only about 20 minutes with traffic and checkpoints.

The old Egyptian museum still had many great exhibits but you could tell they were moving items to the Grand Egyptian museum which was not open yet. It was still very impressive and I would recommend a visit even when the grand Egyptian museum is open. The citadel and the Mohammad Ali masque were very interesting and beautiful. The Khan Khalili market was the typical tourist market that sold things that could be purchase elsewhere in Cairo. The visit could be skipped if you are not looking for souvenirs.

Valley of the queens was just as interesting as valley of the kings. The temple in Dendera was a bonus. If you arrive at the valley of the kings early enough, you can visit the Valley of the Queens the same day. The village of the artisans / tomb workers was also very interesting as you are able to visit the tomb of the head of the workers. It was very interesting to see a less opulent tomb for a commoner.

The citadel provides an excellent view of Amman, and the museum provides an overview of the civilizations that thrived in Jordan. Since it had snowed, we were unable to visit Ajloun castle so more time was spend at Jaresh, which was needed since it was such a large site. The ruins were fascinating, in very good condition, and very much like visiting Rome.

Madama is suprisingly mundaine for the impressive mosaic. Mount Nebo provide an amazing view of the Jordan river valley. Petra is an impressive place and requires more than one day to visit all of the ruins.

Amazing place, I knew nothing about the history of the people who inhabited Petra. It will take at least 4 hours to hike to the monistary from the entrance. I would recomend more than one day if you want to visit all of the different sites within the national park.

Fascinating to see the topography of the area. I was expecting the water of the dead sea to be very cold since we visited in February, but it was quite warm. This would be a good location to visit for a day if you were completing strenuous hikes in Petra or the Wadi Rum area. The baptismal site on the jordan river is about 30 minutes north and could be an interesting 1/2 day experience.
