What you'll do

After getting picked up from your hotel, you'll head straight to the venue in La Fortuna in time for your morning (10 am-4 pm) or evening (5 pm-9:45 pm) session. Once inside, you can unwind in one of the six thermal pools or take a refreshing dip in the two cold-water pools. Ranging from 99°F (37°C) to 106°F (41°C), consider alternating between the different pools to enhance circulation and invigorate the senses, and be sure to relax in the waterfall pool.

Deepen your relaxation with various techniques. Try aquatic stretching to improve flexibility and relieve tension, or harmonic floating for a sensation of weightlessness. If you prefer, you can choose a meditative approach, letting the soothing environment of the hot springs guide you toward inner peace. Then, when it's time, dry off and head to the on-site restaurant to fill up your plate with regional bites, sip on a cocktail, and enjoy a post-meal walk through the adjacent rainforest, allowing you to explore the picturesque environment further.

There were several large hot spring pools cascading down a hillside with smaller, warmer pools scattered around. The dinner buffet was pretty good.

Tips for future travelers

Helpful to have a robe to wear to/from the changing room to the pools. Bring some form of flip flop as it's a gravel path.

This activity was unnecessarily long! 2-2.5 hours would be definitely enough. The restaurant wasn't great either. We didn't know what to do so we waited in the reception for an hour for the time we agreed with the driver and he was late! Read more
