What you'll do
Your adventure begins in Balestrand, where you'll embark on a scenic fjord cruise from its quay to discover the beautiful landscapes and rich wildlife of the Fjærlandsfjord. As you navigate through the narrow fjord, you'll find yourself surrounded by steep, forested mountainsides leading up to the impressive edge of the Jostedal glacier. En route, you can purchase and enjoy a light meal, snacks, and beverages as you soak in the dramatic views.
Upon reaching Fjærland, you'll transfer to a bus that will take you to the Glacier Museum. This interactive museum is perfect for families and offers innovative exhibits that educate visitors about glaciers and climate change. Explore at your own pace and get a hands-on experience as you learn about the powerful forces that shape these magnificent ice formations.
Afterward, board the bus to continue to the Bøyabreen glacier, a branch of Jostedalsbreen (the largest glacier in continental Europe). Here, you'll have the opportunity to snap some pics and witness the glacier's imposing presence up close. When it's time, you'll board the bus once more for the return transfer to the Fjærland quay, where your sightseeing boat awaits to take you back to Balestrand.
