What you'll do

Enjoy a unique horseback riding adventure in the heart of Rioja. Your day begins with a transfer from your accommodation to the stables, where you'll meet your guide and horse for the day. Once you arrive, a local expert will welcome you and provide all the necessary equipment, including helmets and saddles, plus a brief safety briefing and instructions on riding before you set off. But don't worry; you don't need any previous experience to enjoy yourself! The activity is suitable for all ages and experience levels.

The ride takes about 2 to 3 hours and weaves through the beautiful La Rioja wine region, where you'll pass through the area's famous vineyards, fields, and villages. You'll make a few stops here and there to listen to your guide share information about the location and its world-renowned wine culture, rich history, and cultural traditions. You'll also stop to take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. You'll see the rows of vines stretching out before you, mountains in the distance, and small townlets and wine estates. It's a peaceful and relaxing way to experience the region's natural beauty.

After your horseback ride, you'll return to the stables and bid farewell to your horse. Then you'll start your wine experience and visit two favored wineries, where you'll taste their best varietals and learn about the Rioja wine culture from a local guide. You'll have the chance to try some of the best regional varietals (some enjoyed in homes worldwide) accompanied by local cheeses, olives, and other traditional bites. It's the perfect way to cap off your day of adventure and relaxation. At the end of the day, your host will drop you off at your accommodation.

Then, enjoy a traditional breakfast and celebrate with a glass of sparkling cava.

Sajazarra Segway Excursion

Enjoy a unique experience in La Rioja by riding an "off-road" segway through the roads that border the region's vineyards and into the historic village of Sajazarra. Known as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, Sajazarra is just outside the town of Haro and about 40 minutes from Logroño, so it fits well into any La Rioja itinerary. With the help of your guide, you'll cruise along cobbled streets, hidden gardens, and the castle promenade, getting to know the village from a different perspective. Then, hit the gravel roads to view the vineyards and incredible landscapes of La Rioja.

Rioja Winemaking Workshop

Step into the shoes of a traditional winemaker with this hands-on workshop at a Rioja vineyard. Guided by a professional, you'll participate in vineyard tasks such as grape harvesting and vine pruning, then venture into the cellar of this 16th-century family estate to learn about the fermentation process. Along the way, you'll enjoy a traditional Riojan snack and barrel-tasting session to understand how wines are aged. Finish by bottling your own wine to take away as a souvenir from your day as a Riojan winemaker.

Suso and Yuso Abbeys Half-Day Trip

Enjoy a morning full of spirituality visiting one of the most emblematic monasteries of La Rioja!

The monasteries of Yuso and Suso are part of a religious institution founded in the 6th century by San Millán. They were declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1997. We will pick you up at your accomodation to take you there, and you can visit both monasteries on a visit that lasts approximately 1.5 hours in total.

The first records in Spanish were found in these monasteries! At present it is a convent of friars of the Order of the Augustinian Recoletos. Do not miss the opportunity to discover all the details of these medieval monasteries.

Secrets of Logroño Walk

Explore the city of Logroño, La Rioja's capital, and an old Roman settlement named Vareia. A local guide will lead you through the charming streets, passing sites like medieval walls, parliament buildings, and convents, ending where the locals go. Laurel Street is a narrow lane and alleyways lined with delicious eateries where you can try different kinds of tapas and famous La Rioja wine varietals.

Logroño Pintxos Walk

Small group · 1.5 hours

Get a taste of Logroño's famous pintxo (Basque Country snacks) scene on this culinary walk with a local guide. Learn about the city's legends and medieval history as you wander down lively Calle del Laurel, Logroño's foodie hotspot. Stop at four bars along the way that are beloved by locals to immerse yourself in traditional pintxo culture. At each stop, you'll enjoy a typical pintxo, accompanied by a Rioja wine or refreshing beer.

Victor our tour guide was amazing. In terms of the horseback riding, we are not experienced. Our guide was there that spoke English but no one else did. This was a bit concerning as we were trying to figure out how to ride the horses... But, we managed it! The tour of the vineyard was awesome and Marta, the tour guide at the vineyard was so fun! This was one of our favorite days. Victor was very knowledgeable and made sure we had a wonderful experience. Read more
