What you'll do

Once you've arrived for the 9 a.m. departure and settled in on the boat, your guide will briefly introduce the area and the plan for the day. The first stop is Islas Negritos, a reserve that is home to the endangered spider monkeys. As you cruise around the island, keep your eyes peeled for the monkeys as they are often seen hanging out in the trees.

Next, you might have a chance to sample some freshly prepared ceviche from local fishermen for a small fee. Then it's time to get in the water and explore the vibrant sea life. Your guide will take you to several locations to find the best water for snorkeling and swimming. You may even be lucky enough to spot an Olive Ridley turtle! Snorkels and fins are provided.

After working up an appetite, you'll head to Isla Tortuga, where you'll have 2.5 hours to enjoy a casada lunch and time to explore on your own. Many travelers choose to swim in the ocean or find a spot in the sand under the shade, but you can also choose to relax in loungers on the beach, rent a kayak, or go for a banana boat ride (all at an additional cost). Your trip includes drinks and snacks, along with a delicious casado lunch, but there are also plenty of food and drink options available for purchase, including coconut water and pina coladas in pineapples.

The tour wraps up with a 30-minute ride back after your full day of exploration, relaxation, and fun.
