Overview
A Jeep tour of Askja is the ideal way to experience this unique landscape, as it allows you to explore deeper into the Icelandic Highlands. From scenic Lake Mývatn, Askja is just down Route 1, the country's famed Ring Road. Other scenic highlights include the Grafarlandaá and Lindá Rivers, the Herðubreiðarlindir Nature Reserve, and the entire Dyngjufjöll Mountain Range.
The tour will also take you to the Drekagil Canyon before arriving at the Askja caldera. Then, enjoy a scenic walk from the Vikraborgir craters to Askja's crater lake, Víti.
