What you'll do

Today you'll enjoy a challenging yet rewarding hike to find the mythical and "lost" city of Atlantis. You'll depart from Cala d'Hort, an incredibly scenic cove on Ibiza's southwestern coast. Walking south along the cliffs, you'll encounter your first mystical clue: stone spirals placed by the hippies that once lived in nearby caves. Legend has it that you can walk among these stone stacks and absorb magical energy. Next, the trail descends toward the beach and the mystifying lost city of Atlantis (Sa Pedrera).

As you hug the cliffs stretching above the sea, notice how they reflect the sunlight, another natural and magical expression. You'll stop at one of the caves, specifically where a Japanese hippy resided for 10 years. You can see remnants of their stay, including a Shiva mural. From here, the path reaches the sand, which you'll follow to Sa Pedrera, a site housing unique artwork carved into the cliffs, including buddha faces. On calm days, you can enjoy swimming in the sea or one of the artificial pools if the waves have reached Atlantis (or the remnants of an old quarry— we'll let you decide!).

After absorbing this site's mysterious and charming energy, you'll return to Cala d'Hort via a different route up the steep cliffs. Across the water are the island rock formations of Es Vedrà, which you can enjoy from the beach and cliffs. But if you have the time and energy, the views are especially scenic from the old lookout tower once used by pirates, a perfect spot for sunset.
