What you'll do
Immerse yourself in Palma on this delightful culinary journey that showcases the best of local flavors and ingredients. Your adventure begins at the venue's professional kitchen, located on the main street of La Lonja, just a short 3-minute walk from Palma Cathedral. You'll be led by experienced chefs who will guide you through traditional techniques and recipes, tailoring the experience to every skill level.
Your first stop will be the local farm market of Santa Catalina, just three streets away from your kitchen. Here, you'll discover the freshest ingredients, handpicked either from the venue's own garden or sourced directly from local farms. Your host is committed to using only the finest quality ingredients to ensure an authentic and delicious taste of Majorcan cuisine.
The culinary experience begins with an array of appetizers featuring marinated olives and local cheese, Majorcan sobrassada suquet, and an authentic Spanish tortilla. You'll learn about the unique history and flavors of each dish as you savor every bite. Each appetizer is expertly crafted to showcase the island's love for bold flavors and its dedication to using locally sourced ingredients.
Next, you'll dive into the main dish, a mouthwatering seafood paella. This iconic Spanish dish has a rich history dating back to the 19th century, and it has become a staple of Spanish cuisine. You'll learn about the many different variations of paella and how they have evolved over time, influenced by the abundance of seafood in the coastal regions of Spain and the islands.
Finally, your culinary journey will conclude with the indulgent Crema Catalana, a decadent dessert hailing from Catalonia. Like creme brulee, this creamy custard is paired with a crispy caramelized sugar top, resulting in a delightful contrast of textures in every bite. The dish dates back to medieval times, perfectly embodying the rich and indulgent flavors of Spanish sweets.
Throughout this experience, you'll enjoy individual time and attention from your chefs, allowing you to develop your skills and better understand the intricacies of Majorcan cuisine. Whether you're a seasoned cook or a complete novice, this culinary adventure promises a memorable and enjoyable experience. In the end, you'll head home with a recipe book and newly honed skills.
