What you'll do
You can make a hot-air balloon ride even more special by enjoying it over beautiful Mallorca and a sunrise. This time of day typically has the best weather, and you can watch the sun come up over the horizon and illuminate the island's countryside and coastline. You might also catch glimpses of neighboring islands.
To start, you'll watch a short film about hot-air ballooning to better understand the experience and safety precautions. Then, the pilots will begin the inflation process, which you're more than welcome to join. First, you'll fill the balloon halfway with flames and powerful fans. As the balloon turns upright, you'll start to prepare for your flight, getting secure in your basket. Along with your crew, you'll also have any essential equipment, like radios, altimeters, a GPS, a compass, maps, etc. Your pilot is happy to show you how everything works to make balloon flying successful.
As many past travelers comment, the initial excitement of takeoff starts to melt into a sense of calmness as you slowly rise and the air becomes soft and quiet. Surprisingly, it's not cold in the balloon, as you'll fly with the wind and won't feel it. Enjoy the landscape views, including neighboring islands like Cabrera and Menorca. You'll watch small villages, hills, and farmhouses pass under your feet and enjoy the unique silence and feeling you only get from this experience.
Upon landing, the crew will take care of everything while you enjoy a traditional breakfast buffet (Monday through Saturday) and receive a flight certificate.
