This ride was great - the views were amazing and the walk down was hard on the legs, but worth it! Just note, there is a funicular in town but this is a 12 minute drive outside of town. Town buses seemed to be available to get there. Note what kind of ticket you have. Ours were one-way which was great! But it is a steep descent (or ascent!) Read more

Great views when the weather is great, and plenty to explore at the top, including a zip line. If you have time to kill (before checking in to your hotel, for example) there is also a restaurant at the top which provides great views to the city below. Read more

Tips for future travelers

Find the bus from the city center to get there. It fills up fast on the way back to Bergen.

Tips for future travelers

I took the bus back into town which was very easy. I suggest downloading Skyss Billett for ticket buying.

Luckily I had good weather. This probably isn’t worth it if it rainy and foggy.

Tips for future travelers

If you are able to wait to schedule this until you know it will be a clear day, that will maximize the experience. From my perspective, as I love fog and mist, I did not mind that ours was a rainy day.

Quality of Experience
Mt. Ulriken is a stunning alpine landscape, and what a way to access it! (via a swift, clean, well cared-for conveyance)
Transport
The cable car and launching/landing points were clean and well kept.
