Authenticity

Hotel Grotta, built in 1984 and extensively renovated in 2015, is designed in the modern Naxos style. The poured cement building is full of archways, rock accent walls, and soft, neutral tones throughout. The hotel embraces local traditions with its complimentary buffet breakfast, which features Naxian specialties like potato omelets and homemade jams. Dimitris, the owner of the hotel, lives just across the street, and his sons help run the hotel in the summers, providing a local touch and warm hospitality. 

Location

Hotel Grotta is in a quiet area on the outskirts of Naxos Town, offering a peaceful retreat while still being close to major attractions. The famous Temple of Apollo is a 16-minute walk away, and the Venetian Castle is just 12 minutes on foot. The central parts of Naxos Town, where you'll find restaurants, shopping, and markets, are a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive. The hotel is also a short 7-minute walk to Grotta Beach, providing sweeping ocean views from many areas of the property.

The rooms at Hotel Grotta have a simple, minimalist charm and feel quite modern after being fully renovated in 2015. There are 37 rooms in four different configurations, with options for sea and garden views and private terraces in upgraded rooms. Bathrooms are equipped with glass, walk-in waterfall showers, porcelain sinks, and toilets.

One of the highlights at Hotel Grotta is the private indoor pool area, which includes a heated pool with rainfall and waterfall spouts, a hot tub, and a Hammam (steam sauna). The pool area must be reserved in advance, offering 30 minutes of private relaxation in the well-furnished spa area. Homemade breakfast is included in the stay and served buffet-style, with a mix of classic breakfast and Naxian dishes.  There's also a small rooftop terrace with seating, offering clear views of the Aegean Sea—perfect for relaxing with a drink while watching the sunset.

Hotel Grotta is family-friendly, welcoming children of all ages and providing free cots for younger guests. The Triple Bedroom is ideal for families, accommodating up to three people. However, the hotel doesn't offer specific activities, menus, or amenities tailored for children. An elevator is available for families traveling with a stroller.
