Yurbban Passage Hotel & Spa, Barcelona
Chic boutique hotel in Barcelona's El Born, with a rooftop pool, vegan spa, modern rooms, and local cuisine
Overview
Pros
- You can relax at the in-house, adults-only vegan spa, one of the first of its kind, with water circuits and a spa pool.
- The hotel exclusively uses and promotes regional products in its decor, lobby shop, and eateries.
- The rooftop plunge pool and terrace with loungers offer incredible city views.
- The hotel has a fitness center, shuffleboard, Finna Cycles bike rentals, and longboard rentals.
- There's a quirky photo booth in the lobby and a fresh flower market in the historic passageway at the hotel's doorstep.

- This isn't a particularly kid-friendly hotel: there are no child-specific amenities or family-friendly rooms.
- There's no parking available at the hotel.
Kimkim's Take
Additional Notes
While visiting this hotel, the staff used my first name multiple times. One of their goals is to greet their guests like friends and family—and I loved this personal touch! Sometimes, it's the little things, and this property simultaneously makes you feel at home and in Barcelona. At every turn, another cool, hip perk popped up, but my favorite is probably the complimentary 30 minutes in the all-organic, vegan spa—or maybe the adorable flower market where you can order a bouquet for your room.
Authenticity
Yurbban Passage's historic building has roots in the textile industry. Now an elegant hotel, it sits above a historic passageway once frequented by local merchants, where you'll find the property's flower market. The entire property exclusively features local cuisine and Catalan products in its decor, shop, and restaurants.
Location
You'll find Yurbban Passage in the historic El Born neighborhood, on Passatge de les Manufactures, an iconic passageway now lined with the hotel and a few eateries. You'll be almost equidistant from the Arc de Triomf and Plaça de Catalunya, within walking distance to numerous city sites, including the Barcelona Cathedral, Ciutadella Park, and La Ramba.
Rooms & Bathrooms
There's not a lot of room variety here. Instead, the hotel tries to make the look and amenities of the rooms consistent for all guests. So, even the standard options have an air of stately elegance. All the rooms have a pillow menu, a kettle and complimentary teas, Google Chromecast for streaming services, a Nespresso machine, a desk, a minibar, a yoga mat, and a media hub with HDMI, Bluetooth, and USB. Opt for a terraced room if you want a private outdoor space overlooking the Ciutat Vella neighborhood. Bathrooms have rainfall showers and the hotel's signature toiletries.
Amenities
Each guest receives 30 minutes in the hotel's organic and vegan spa to experience its water circuit, ending at an indoor swimming pool. You can always extend your time or add treatments for additional fees. Other perks at Yurbban Passage include a fitness center, yoga kits for your room, longboard and bicycle rentals, shuffleboard, and a photo booth. There's also a shop selling local artisan products, a rooftop terrace with a lounge and a plunge pool, an on-site restaurant, and cooking classes.Family-Friendliness
Children of all ages are welcome, but this hotel isn't very kid-friendly. Many rooms only have one bed for two people, and cribs and extra beds are unavailable. Families should book one of the rooms that includes a single sofa bed, such as the Yurbban Triple. Children age six and older count as adults at the property. The hotel is stroller-friendly.Other Highlights
The hotel's sophisticated restaurant serves a Catalan-style breakfast buffet with local cheeses, charcuterie, and freshly baked pastries. Gourmet Catalan cuisine is served on a la carte for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. The hotel has a full bar serving a wide range of cocktails, beer, and wine. Weather permitting, a rooftop bar opens on the terrace.Like what you see?
