Juan Ignacio Pissareff
I'm a travel designer at MacDermott's Argentina. My degree in tourism and hospitality and working in the world of travel has meant I’ve been able to dedicate time to my passion of exploring and writing about the regions of the southern cone of South America. I document my trips in my blog, Viajes de Juani, and use the experience to deepen my knowledge to be better able to design trips for our guests, hopefully transmitting my love for the region and give people a little bit of my passion to take home with them.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"Our trips are carefully tailored using our on-the-ground knowledge of Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay and the strong relationships that we have built with our partners. We specialize in unique and off-the-beaten-track experiences as well as the very personal attention we give to our guests while they are here. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"When I grow up I decided to study travel, in order to deepen my knowledge, building on my experience with my family, to help other people organise trips around Argentina, Chile and Uruguay."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"After finishing my studies in tourism, I did an internship in the little town of Villa La Angostura in the Lake District of Argentine Patagonia, working in a small lodge on the shores of the great lake of Nahuel Huapi. It was a real rite of passage moment for me, it was the first time I travelled alone and the first hands-on experience I had in the world of travel, when I had to stand on my own two feet and figure things out for myself. I grow up so much and it became part of the base of my knowledge in how to make sure people have a great time, which I have been building on ever since."
