We have used kimkim in the past to book other trips because they never disappoint.
Hamza and Said were quick to answer all our questions and give us tips to make sure we booked the trip of our dreams. They take out the stress out of travelling as you know hotels, transfers and activities are all booked beforehand.
Everything is well timed and organized and we felt safe at all times.
We met our driver Samir in the airport and let me tell you he is great! If we travel to Morocco make sure you request him! Not only he is a safe driver, puntual and very knowledgeable, he is always extremely helpful and kind.
He always kept the care impeccably clean and fresh for us. Gave us tips on where and how to deal with merchants. Brought is to the best hidden gema to eat. Explained us how to tip and haggle and told us many stories about his country and their culture. Truly an exceptional human being that always made us smile.
Thank you Samir for making our visit to your country extra special!
Our tour guide in Marrakech was Hanan! Kudos to her too! Very kind young lady. Knowledgeable and funny. She never pushed
us to buy and she genuinely cares for her trade.
When in Marrakech make sure you book the hammam experience! We love the exfoliation, mask and massage. The tea and the pampering where unparalleled.
To give you an idea of our vacation, here is the itinerary:
Marrakesh (3 nights)
Aït Benhaddou (1 night)
Merzouga (1 night)
Fes (2 nights)
Rabat (1 night)
Chefchaouen (1 night)
We liked our itinerary and really recommend visiting the Merzouga desert. The camel ride and watching the sunset on the dunes of the Sahara is a one in a lifetime experience. That being said make sure you book a luxury camp, which means having AC and a private bathroom in your tent, anything else might feel daunting, or at least for us.
The cooking class and mosaic workshop are also very fun. I wished the cooking class was in a more authentic kitchen instead of a super fancy riad as it would add value to the experience but it was still a lot of fun and our Chef Mounia was a delight.
Coming with an open mind is a must. Remember you are no longer back home. Be ready to haggle is part of the culture.
Ask before taking pictures as many people, specially in tourist spots like the main square in the Marrakech medina, are there for money and will expect a tip.
Culture is different and accommodations too. Instead of comparing, admire the richness of this country and adjust to what is being offered to you.
We were mesmerized by the beauty of the intricate work in the mosaics and the carvings and hand paint job in the cedar ceilings.
The quality of natural beauty products!
The kaftans 😍 the lamps, the leather work! There is sooo much to admire but above all we loved how kind and generous Moroccans are!
The food is delicious and the pastries and sweets too. The fresh bread, olives and mint tea a delicacy.
Thanks again Hamza, Said and Samir! We will be sire to be back!
Hotel Reviews
No AC in room not even a fan. Bathroom smelled like sewer and had leaking rusting pipes. Beds were extremely hard to sleep on. We understand we are in the middle of the desert but know about other camps that had better and cleaners accomodations.
Well located although the alley where its located is quite dark and difficult to walk at night. Super Kind staff. Comfortable beds and good shower! Shampoo, body gel and body cream smelled fantastic. Good big breakfast. Terrible humidity smell covered with too much burning incense.
Very well located hotel. Super ample room with balcony and a huge comfortable bed. A bit difficult to take a shower in the bathroom but overall one of the nicest accommodations. Super kind staff. Good dinner and good breakfast. Very bad wifi, we had to be downstairs to get any reception.
Location was not that great it was a bit far from the medina and we didnt dare walk alone at night. Beautiful riad. Magnificent decoration and kind staff. Delicious food, specially all the cookies and pastries. Comfortable beds and good bathroom. The only problem is our room was in the second floor, which really meant more like a 4th floor and the stairs where very difficult to climb, with steps deeper than others we almost fell a couple of times. Make sire ro ask for a room in the main floor.
Well located Kind staff Comfortable beds although the second bed was up high on a mezzanine and the stairs where really steep. Good bathroom So so breakfast.
Well located but hard to get too it. Staff was ok Room very tight and in ours was located in a bottom floor that was very noisy as the street was just above us. Bathroom was not very clean the shower floor was quite dirty. Breakfast was not great.
