Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Sydney
Welcome to Australia! Your expedition starts in Sydney with a transfer from the airport to your accommodation and an evening to yourself to rest up and wander.
Day 2: Sydney Coastal Walk
Drive out to Bondi Beach, one of Australia's best-known beaches. Embark on a beachfront walk along the ocean cliffs, then reward yourself with a drink at the Bondi Icebergs Swimming Club.
Day 3: Sydney to Melbourne
Catch a flight to Melbourne. Once you've settled into your new lodgings, you'll get an orientation tour of the city for an insider's perspective on its streets, topped off with drinks at one of the city's many cafes.
Chat with a local specialist who can help organize your trip.
Day 4: Laneways & Shopping
Take a walking tour through the back streets of Melbourne, scoping out the street-art-filled alleyways and urban coffee culture. You'll have the afternoon to relax and get in some souvenir shopping. Consider stopping for dinner with a constantly changing view aboard the Colonial Tramcar restaurant, which will take you through the city as you dine.
Day 5: Wildlife & Wine in the Yarra Valley
Head out of the city and into the Yarra Valley, where you'll visit the Healesville Sanctuary to get up close and personal with Australia's unique plants and wildlife. Accompany it with lunch and tastings at one of the Yarra Valley's vineyards.
Day 6: Melbourne to Hobart
Catch your next flight on to the old convict capital of Tasmania, Hobart. Visit the Cascades Female Factory, a former workhouse for prisoners, and learn about the region's history.
Day 7: Museum of Old & New Art
Pay a visit to the impressive Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). In addition to its art collection, MONA also houses the Moorilla Winery, where you can stop in for lunch and a wine tasting. Then continue on to historic Richmond to scope out its heritage architecture and Australia's oldest bridge.
Day 8: Depart Hobart
Leave some time in the morning to explore the artists, musicians, and other producers of the Salamanca markets. Sneak in one last souvenir before you depart for home or the next stop on your journey.
