Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in San José, Dinner for Two
Welcome to Costa Rica! With four biosphere reserves and 28 national parks protecting vast tropical ecosystems and around 500,000 species of animals, this is the perfect destination for newlyweds who want to mix adventure with romance. Upon arrival at the airport in the capital of San José, your private driver will be waiting to transfer you to your luxury hotel in the city.
Take some time to relax and unwind after the flight. Then, at the appropriate time, you'll head over to one of the best restaurants in the city for an intimate dinner featuring gourmet haute cuisine. Afterward, return to the hotel and rest up for the adventure tomorrow.
Day 2: Transfer to Bajos del Toro, Cloud Forest Hike
After breakfast at your hotel, your driver will pick you and your loved one up for the two-hour drive north to Bajos del Toro. Located in Costa Rica's central highlands, this region is famous for its plunging waterfalls and misty cloud forests. After checking into your hotel, you'll meet an expert naturalist guide and head out on a nature hike to experience these forests for yourself.
Day 3: Private Yoga Class, Waterfall Hike & Tree Climbing
Chat with a local specialist who can help organize your trip.
Start the day with a private outdoor yoga session on the hotel's forest deck. It's a great opportunity to commune with nature as you clear your mind and relieve stress amid panoramic views of the jungle. Afterward, you'll hit the trail again, this time on a two-hour hike to Catarata del Toro, one of the most impressive waterfalls in the region. On the way there, be on the lookout for howler monkeys and tropical birds in the trees. Once you arrive, you'll enjoy the majesty of these falls, which plunge a whopping 272 feet (83 m) from different viewpoints.
Your last activity of the day is a fun one involving a tree climb to the top of the rainforest canopy. Your guide will lead you to a tree covered in strangler figs. These parasitic plants consume entire trees, but their long roots create natural footholds you can use to reach the top. It's a perfectly safe activity, as you'll be in a full harness and following all safety protocols. At the top, you'll be rewarded with incredible views out across the green jungle canopy at around 75 feet (23 m) above ground.
