Day 1: Arrive in Lisbon & Tagus River Sunset Cruise
Welcome to Portugal! As you touch down in Lisbon, keep your eyes peeled for a great view of the Tagus River, one of the country's must-see natural features. After you work through customs at the airport, you'll meet your private chauffeur, who will take you to your hotel, showing you the rhythm and the romance of one of the most cosmopolitan and beautiful areas of the city en route.
Take some time to rest and relax after your flight, then gear up for a relaxing evening on the water. You'll catch a magical sunset as you take a two-hour cruise down the Tagus; enjoy great views of the city — particularly the Belém area — while you sip champagne from your perch on deck.
Day 2: Lisbon Highlights Tour
After breakfast at your hotel this morning, get ready to visit the famous districts of Lisbon: Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto and Alfama. You'll meet an expert local guide for a fascinating three-hour walking tour that will highlight this city's treasures: think history, architecture, gastronomy and more!
You'll see the heart of the ancient city and will receive tips about shops and restaurants to enhance your experience in the capital. You'll also enjoy a trip on Lisbon's famous Yellow Tram will be able to pause for a coffee paired with irresistible Portuguese Pastel de Nata custard tarts.
After your tour, head out into the city armed with your new recommendations and spend the day however you like. You can, of course, return to your hotel to relax but be sure to venture back out as evening sets to enjoy a delicious meal in town. Day 3: Arrive in Lagos and Food & Walking Tour
Today you'll hit the road for a three-hour drive to Lagos, a 16th-century city with romantic cobblestone streets, lovely squares, great nightlife, and a fantastic food scene. Awaken your appetite with a fun food tour; you'll travel through town tasting around a dozen traditional Portuguese dishes. You'll learn about Lagos through not only its flavors but its locals, who will share their stories as well as their tips to help you make the most of your time in the Algarve.
If you're still craving outdoor time after your tour, head for the coast. Near the city center are a number of dreamlike beaches where you can lounge, enjoy watersports, or cruise along the coast. If you're interested in serenity away from the crowds, try Pinhão Beach, a peaceful, secluded cove, or Praia do Camilo, a gorgeous sheltered spot you can only accessed by walking down 200 wooden steps (rest assured, the scenery is worth the effort!).
You can also take the afternoon to explore the massive Costa Vicentina Natural Park, which extends all the way north to Odeceixe. Nature lovers will delight in the remarkable landscape here; the park covers a whopping 182,857 acres of protected land including beaches, cliffs, rolling hills, and marshland, with more than 750 species of spectacular flora and 200 species of birds.
Day 4: Golden Coast Cruise in Lagos
See Portugal from the water today as you embark on a stunning cruise along the coastline of the Western Algarve. You will see the famous rock formations, golden beaches, cliffs and caves of Ponta da Piedade, Porto de Mós and the iconic rock of Praia da Luz.
You'll also stop on a secluded bay near the fishing village of Burgau to enjoy your complimentary lunch and delicious cocktail. After, soak up the sun or take a dip in the azure water. On your way back, keep your eyes peeled for friendly dolphins that call these water home.
Day 5: Departure
It is time to say goodbye to beautiful Portugal. This morning after breakfast, you may have time to pop back out in town for some last-minute sightseeing or souvenir shopping before you meet your private airport transfer.
