Day 1: Transfer to Teresópolis - Trek to Pedra do Sino basecamp

This morning you'll transfer from your accommodation in Rio de Janeiro to the city of Teresópolis—the headquarters of the Serra dos Órgãos National Park. From here, continue to Beija-Flor River Dam, the starting point of today's trek. Work your way along the lower section of the park until you reach the trail that will lead you to basecamp. During the rugged ascent, you'll cross two waterfalls, one of them being the stunning Veil Bride falls with a 53-foot (16 m) drop. Upon arriving at Shelter 4, you'll set up camp and relax before hiking to the Pedra do Sino (Bell Rock) peak to enjoy sweeping views and a sunset.

Day 2: Sunrise Pedra do Sino trek - Return to Teresópolis - Transfer to Rio de Janeiro

Rise early this morning for a nocturnal hike to the Pedra do Sino summit to enjoy the rising sun over Rio de Janeiro, Guanabara Bay, and Tijuca Forest. Return to camp for breakfast and spend some time exploring the peaceful environs where you might consider a trek to Pico do Papudo or São João. When it's time, pack up camp and work your way back to Teresópolis and return to your hotel in Rio de Janeiro.
