What you'll do

Your boat trip begins at the marina in Lagos, where you'll meet your guide and board an 18-seater RIB. After a quick safety briefing, you'll set off from the marina, sailing alongside the town's busy, palm-lined promenade. Once you hit the Atlantic Ocean, you'll head east, following the Algarve's rugged coastline. Admire views of the golden beaches backed by red-orange cliffs as you fly across the waves.

As you make your way toward the caves, you'll first stop at the lesser-known yet equally impressive caves of Carvoeiro. Here, your guide will share fascinating insights into the geological formations and the coastal history of the area. Continuing, you'll soon approach the star attraction—Algar de Benagil, which is only accessible by boat. Known worldwide, this cave boasts crystal-clear waters, awe-inspiring rock formations, and a tiny beach. Learn about the cave's geology, with its cathedral-high ceiling topped with a hole that lets in streaming sunlight, before sailing back along the coast to Lagos.
