Be thrilled by Tortuguero's mysterious jungle-flanked canal network on a guided canoe trip, wildlife-watching as you go

Overview

Canoeing the Tortuguero canals is an extraordinary adventure and today, you will get to experience this for yourself. Besides boasting one of the world's most important sea turtle nesting sites, Tortuguero National Park also offers a swathe of mysterious surrounding rainforest laced by waterways. It is some of these that you will be exploring today on canoes seating up to six people and with your guide doing the paddling, leaving you to concentrate on wildlife watching. Your guide will also help you discover the park’s flora and fauna, pointing out any plants and creatures of interest.

This very family-friendly tour departs first by boat from Mawamba Lodge to the Tortuguero National Park ranger station, where you will get your admission tickets. There, you will board your canoe with your guide for a two-hour tour of the jungle-fringed network of canals. Watch out for almost 200 species of bird, three monkey species, crocodiles, caimans, toucans, sloths, and much more.

This activity has a price of $32 per person, which can be payed directly at your hotel upon your arrival
