What you'll do
You'll start your adventure by traveling 25 minutes from Tromsø to the center where the dogsledding adventure begins. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by friendly and accommodating guides who will provide you with thermal overalls and boots to keep you warm throughout your stay. Once you're properly equipped, one of the experienced mushers will drive you through the mountain landscapes of Kvaløya Island. Expect a 45-minute sled ride, shared with one or two other guests, depending on the weather conditions.
After your thrilling ride, you'll have the opportunity to visit the dog yard, home to 200 eager Alaskan huskies and their adorable puppies. During a guided tour, you'll learn about the Alaskan husky breed, dogsled racing, and animal welfare. This is a perfect time to take some heartwarming photos with the dogs, making it an ideal activity for families with children or anyone looking for a relaxed yet adventurous experience.
After exploring the dog yard, you can relax and warm up around an open fire in the cozy gamme. Here, you'll be served a delicious lunch featuring bithos—a traditional Sámi reindeer dish—or a vegetarian option if requested, capping the meal with a rich piece of chocolate cake for dessert. After this hearty meal, you'll make your way back to Tromsø with full bellies and hearts.
