Abba San Sebastián Hotel, San Sebastián
Modern boutique hotel in a historic building with a rooftop terrace, garden, and views
Great location and great hotel With rooftop bar
Overview
Kimkim's Take
- This is a modern hotel in a historic building, a pretty Baroque palace built at the beginning of the 20th century; it's among the city's protected spaces.
- Though the inside of the hotel is modern and remodeled, it still maintains a glitzy Belle Époque vibe that was so important to the city's history.
- You'll be right on Paseo de Francia along the riverfront, one of the city's best walking streets, and just a five-minute stroll from the Old Town and the Kursaal Arts Center.
- If you're traveling by train, this is an excellent option, as you'll be just steps from the main station, Donostia-San Sebastián.
- Some of the rooms are on the building's corners and have private terraces.
- You can relax on the rooftop, which is a great spot for sunset and a drink.
- The hotel doesn't have a full-service restaurant or a spa.
- Many rooms are very compact; you might need to upgrade if you'd like more space.
- There are no child-oriented amenities for traveling families.
- No towels or water are provided at the on-site fitness center.
- Bathrooms have electronically operated sliding doors that are somewhat slow and cumbersome to use.

The hotel is housed in an early 20th-century palace with beautiful Baroque architecture. It's on the Paseo de Francia, one of the city's protected spaces with a leafy park, historical architecture, and river views.Location
The hotel is ideally situated in the city center, on the banks of the river and off the Paseo de Francia, a favorite promenade for locals. It's just a three-minute stroll to the main train station, five minutes from the Old Town and the Palacio de Congresos del Kursaal, and about 10 minutes from the famous La Concha Beach.Rooms & Bathrooms
Abba San Sebastián Hotel offers several room types, though if you want ample space, we recommend a Superior Corner room or Junior Suite. All are decorated in San Sebastián's signature colors of blue and white and equipped with the latest technology and comforts, such as Nespresso machines and Smart TVs. For a bit of history and luxury, grab one of the Superior Corner rooms with a terrace.Amenities
The rooftop terrace and bar feature panoramic views of the city and the Urumea River. Guests particularly enjoy the rooftop's sunset views. A lobby lounge bar and a small outdoor garden provide additional space for guests to relax. The hotel offers paid parking, laundry services, and a small fitness center. This is a wheelchair-accessible hotel, and some rooms have been adapted for travelers with limited mobility.Family-Friendliness
The hotel has a family-friendly atmosphere and allows children of all ages. Complimentary cribs can be provided, and guests can request an extra bed for children between 3 and 11. The hotel offers connecting rooms and is stroller-friendly.Other Highlights
The hotel has a continental breakfast buffet served daily from 7:30 to 11 am. The spread (which costs an extra fee) includes fresh fruits, juices, cheeses, cold cuts, Iberico ham, bread, baked goods, and hot dishes like bacon and eggs.Like what you see?
