Awasi Patagonia, Torres del Paine

5.0 (1 review) · Luxury
Eco-friendly luxury villas with hot tubs and views of Torres del Paine, plus a restaurant and bar on-site

Overview

Blending seamlessly into the remote Patagonian landscape, Awasi Patagonia is comprised of a series of villas that mix luxury and nature a little over an hour from Torres del Paine National Park and two hours from Puerto Natales. The villas stand on a private reserve that was the exact location where Florence Dixie, a 19th-century British adventurer and aristocrat, camped and saw the Torres del Paine mountain range for the first time. In fact, her travelogues and descriptions of this three-peaked range — which she called "Cleopatra's Needles" at the time — brought this area worldwide attention.

There are just under 15 villas, all built on stilts and with local natural materials to ensure minimal disturbance of the wildlife. And wildlife there is, as you may spot guanacos, ñandus, and pumas from your villa, whose wraparound windows look out onto the Torres del Paine mountains, Lake Sarmiento, and pampas. There's one two-bedroom option for families or groups. The villas are inspired by Patagonian shelters and ranching outposts, so they're styled with a cozy mix of wood, handwoven textiles, and organic materials. Each one has an outdoor hot tub, and bathrooms include bathtubs with showers.

Each villa comes with a private guide and 4WD, so you can enjoy tailor-made excursions during your stay. After adventuring for the day, head to the main lodge, a cozy gathering place where you can have a meal of fresh local ingredients and a well-mixed cocktail. One of the highlights of this hotel is the hospitality, as the staff offers a mix of support, discretion, and consideration. They may surprise you with gifts in your villa at the end of an excursion, remember your favorite cocktail without you having to order it or pack extra cookies and snacks for your hike because they know your food preferences.

Stunning architecture and decor with views of Torres del Paine from every cabin. The location is further from activities than other hotels (about an hour and 15 minutes from the park) but well worth it. Hot tubs do not work with hot/windy weather.
