Patagonia Camp, Torres del Paine

4.5 (2 reviews) · Comfort
Upscale camping-hotel hybrid offering cozy yurts with panoramic views, outdoor hot tubs, a dining room, and exceptional hospitality

Overview

Perched above the shore of Toro Lake, the eco-friendly Patagonia Camp offers a glamorous camping experience that immerses you in the beauty of Patagonia. Patagonia Camp was the first luxury camp in South America, and its focus on nature is clear in the way its low-impact yurts integrate and blend into the landscape. Step outside to kayak on Toro Lake or head to Torres del Paine National Park, just 9 miles (15 km) away, to discover sites like the French Valley, Grey Glacier, and Lake Pehoé. The closest city is Puerto Natales, an hour away, and Punta Arena is four hours by car.

The 20 yurts are divided into four categories that differ in size and amenities. All except for the Deluxe option include an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the lake, while the Suite and Family units combine two yurts to allow for extra living and sleeping space. Each room type has a balcony and en-suite bathroom with a shower. The style is organic and cozy, using wooden furnishings, woven textiles, and sustainable materials. All options have unimpeded views of the lake and include a clear dome on the ceiling, so you can star gaze and watch the night sky from your bed.

Patagonia Camp stands out because of its care and thoughtfulness. There are various environmentally sustainable practices in place, including an on-site water treatment plant and biodegradable toiletries made exclusively for the hotel. The staff is warm and hospitable, eager to share their knowledge and passion with guests. The goal is to create an upscale and natural hotel experience in this remote region, so enjoy amenities like a terrace and dining room that serves tasty Patagonian food with a twist.

The hotel/camp is very unique because the room is a yurt connected by walk ways to the main reception and restaurant. The best part is that you feel that you are in the nature and not being disturbed by other hotel guests. But since it is a yurt. you are subject to the nature as well because you will hear the rain and the wind (it is quite windy in Patagonia). All the staff are fantastic and helpful. But since it is a yurt. you are subject to the nature as well because you will hear the rain and the wind (it is quite windy in Patagonia). All the staff are fantastic and helpful. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner are very good. Many people chose not to go for activities to enjoy the facilities and lunch. In addition, the guides of the activities are also very wonderful.
The only draw back for us is that we were waiting an hour at the airport for pickup even though they were informed of the plane arrival time. There is only 2 flights flying in Puerto Nateles everyday.

BEST HOTEL WE WILL EVER STAY AT IN OUR LIVES! Every detail was perfect. They are so nice and the quality of our stay was amazing. If I could give more than 5 stars for a place to stay, this is the place. 10 stars out of 5. My wife and I were so sad to leave this magical place. Read more
