Explora Torres del Paine, Torres del Paine

5.0 (1 review) · Luxury
Eco-friendly luxury hotel with panoramic views, an indoor pool, a stable, and outdoor hot tubs

Overview

Explora Torres del Paine appears like a white ship next to the Salto Chico Waterfall, overlooking Lake Pehoé and the Paine Massif. This year-round, all-inclusive hotel was the first luxury property in Patagonia after opening in 1993. In fact, it's the only luxury hotel in Torres del Paine National Park. Step outside to take in the view of Salto Chico or embark on one of the many trails by foot or horseback. Don't worry about not having a horse; the hotel has its own stables. Puerto Natales, the closest city, is 1.5 hours by car, and Punta Arenas, the gateway to Antarctica, is 4.5 hours.

The focus of the 49 rooms and suites is the landscape, so book according to your preference for a lake or mountain view. Large windows give you an uninterrupted view of Macizo del Paine or Salto Chico, and rooms don't include televisions to encourage a connection with nature. The design is cozy and minimalist, with wood furnishings and neutral tones. All rooms include jetted bathtubs, as well as showers. Suites can accommodate extra beds for kids, or interconnecting rooms are available for larger parties. There's a three-day minimum stay at this lodge.

A group of friends started Explora Torres del Paine as a way of offering deep connections and experiences to Patagonia's land, and that ethos is seen throughout the hotel. The restaurant offers meals of local produce and flavors, while the spa offers a heated indoor pool, a sauna, and several outdoor Jacuzzis overlooking the Paine River. The hotel is committed to conservation, as Explora has created various conservation reserves around South America.

From the moment you are greeted at the door, to the moment you leave, everything you can imagine is taken care of. The sleek styling and unbelievable view have you feeling transported to paradise.
