Grand Hotel De La Ville, Sorrento
Elegant hotel with bright rooms and customized furniture, views of Mount Vesuvius, and a rooftop pool
Overview
Grand Hotel De La Ville is just a few blocks from Sorrento's center, giving you the chance to have a peaceful stay with easy access to nearby sites. Walk to the main stretch of Corso Italia in just five minutes, where you'll find a number of shops, restaurants, and bars. The train station is 10 minutes away on foot, while the port is 15, making this convenient for those who want to reach sites like Positano, Naples, and Pompeii via train or ferry. Sorrento's central square, Piazza Tasso, is 10 minutes away on foot.
The style of the rooms is classic Sorrento through and through. White is the dominant color, with pops of blue, patterned tiles, and ornate customized wooden pieces adding a touch of elegance. All rooms have balconies, and while Standards and Classics face the rear of the hotel or the garden, everything above has a full or partial sea view. Both Prestige and Premier options have panoramic sea views, and Premier Rooms include views of Mount Vesuvius. Triple Rooms are available for larger parties. Marbled bathrooms include tubs with showers.
One of the highlights of the hotel is its rooftop seasonal pool and bar, where you can cool off and enjoy uninterrupted views of Mount Vesuvius from a safe distance. There are two restaurants on-site and a second bar in the tranquil and lush garden, so you can take your pick of epic sea view vibes or cozier earthy ones on the ground floor.

The hotel was immaculately clean and bright. My favorite area was the outdoor seating area for breakfast. Only went to the rooftop bar once to take in the view, but it was nice. The service thought out the hotel was exceptional and we had a nice view of the sea. Well appointed rooms and an easy walk to places of interest in Sorrento.

This place was AMAZING! The rooftop pool/bar area was beautiful, even though the bar service was only open until 6 p.m. The views were fabulous from our terrace. During my three-night stay at Grand Hotel De La Ville in Sorrento, I found the rooms to be okay, but the front desk staff were not particularly friendly as I expected. The food was decent, but I may explore other options if I visit Sorrento again.
