Authenticity

Hotel Cortezo, established in 1958, offers a blend of history and modernity in Madrid's lively entertainment district. The hotel has been renovated to provide a comfortable experience with modern amenities while maintaining some of its original charm. The decor features dark wooden headboards and brushed stainless steel accents, creating a sophisticated atmosphere. The rooftop terrace, though small, provides a space to enjoy panoramic city views, adding to the hotel's urban appeal. The rooms are decorated in Mediterranean colors, creating a comfortable environment that subtly reflects the region's character.

Location

Located in Madrid Centro on Doctor Cortezo Street, Hotel Cortezo is ideal for exploring the city's architectural, artistic, and gastronomical highlights. Attractions like Plaza de Santa Ana and Puerta del Sol are just a 5-minute walk away, and the Royal Palace of Madrid is a 15-minute walk. Despite its central location, the hotel remains relatively quiet, though weekends can be busier due to a nearby nightclub. Excellent public transport connections, including the Tirso de Molina and Sol metro stations, make it convenient to explore farther afield.

Rooms & Bathrooms

The rooms at Hotel Cortezo offer a classic interior with parquet flooring and dark furnishings. Despite their traditional style, they're clean and well-furnished, providing a cozy vibe. The rooms feature comfortable beds, although some guests find them firm, with options for different pillow types. Bathrooms are equipped with rainfall showerheads and offer good water pressure. Room categories include a Double or Twin, a Junior Suite, a Triple Room, and a Family Room, each offering slight variations in decor and bathroom amenities. Some rooms face the inner courtyard, providing a quieter stay.

Amenities

Hotel Cortezo has a rooftop terrace with panoramic city views, perfect for relaxing in the sun. The terrace includes lounge chairs and an outdoor shower. Travelers can enjoy a hot and cold buffet breakfast with various options, including gluten-free and sugar-free choices, though vegan selections are limited. The lobby bar serves morning coffee and provides a cozy space for guests to unwind. A computer station with internet access is available for those needing to work during their stay.

Family-Friendliness

Although Hotel Cortezo welcomes families, it's more oriented toward adults, with no specific programs or facilities for children. Free baby cribs are available upon request, and interconnecting rooms can be arranged, making it a convenient option for larger families. The hotel's central location allows families to explore Madrid's top sights on foot, making it a suitable choice for a short family trip in the city.

Liked the central location, however the room was small and extremely cramped. We did not have enough room for our luggage and walking space at the same time.
Was very hard to sleep due to noise and having to sleep in twin beds.
Breakfast and breakfast staff were kind, and food was good.
