Park Inn San Jose by Radisson, San José
Colorful, budget-friendly accommodation near San José's picturesque Parque La Sabana
Beds were very comfortable and restaurant food was delicious.

Overview
Kimkim's Take
- The rooms are bright, clean, and noticeably larger than most hotels in the downtown area, with some offering city views.
- You can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, and on-site bar/restaurant with a nice outdoor terrace.
- Although not centrally located in San José's downtown, you'll be a 10-minute walk from Parque La Sabana and near some of the city's best restaurants and shops.
- Although the hotel is pleasant overall, the common areas feature pretty generic decor.
- The hotel is outside the historic downtown, so you'll need a car or taxi to reach San José's main attractions.
Authenticity
Some of the lobby's decor offers a nod to Costa Rican history and culture, and the on-site restaurant serves a few traditional dishes. Otherwise, this location blends in with any Park Inn hotel's standard look and feel, following a bright and colorful theme.
Location
One downside to the Park Inn is that it's not in the historic part of the city. Instead, you'll be slightly out of the bustle and a bit closer to La Sabana, San José's largest municipal park. Some of the best restaurants in San José are nearby, including the Grano del Oro. Otherwise, it's a 30-minute walk or a 15-minute car or taxi ride to get to the city's top attractions, like the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, Jade Museum, and National Theater. If you have a rental car, the hotel offers free parking.Rooms & Bathrooms
Following the international aesthetic of Park Inn hotels, this location has large and bright rooms with pops of color. Even the standard rooms are notably more spacious than many of San José's downtown hotels, so, again, this is a good choice for families who might need a bit more space. Bathrooms are modern and roomy, with plenty of counter space and walk-in showers.
Amenities
The hotel's courtyard has a pool, which has a shallow area for kids, and an outdoor Jacuzzi. The fitness center has a full selection of cardio and weight equipment and is open 24/7 for your convenience. Travelers with limited mobility have access to an elevator and several accessible rooms outfitted with roll-in showers.
Family-Friendliness
Children of all ages are welcome, and kids younger than 11 stay for free if sharing a room with an adult. While there are no rollaway beds or cribs at the hotel, the suites come with sofa beds, and connecting rooms are available. The outdoor pool has been a favorite of previous travelers with kids.
Other Highlights
The room rates include complimentary breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, RBG Bar & Grill. Lunch and dinner are available a la carte, with a mix of local and international dishes. There's also a bar, an outdoor terrace, and meeting rooms.Like what you see?

Pretty standard (quite nice) Radisson. We were only here overnight before heading to the airport early in the morning. Again, great staff.
I stayed at Park Inn San Jose by Radisson for one night. Since we arrived late and left early, there wasn't much to say about the stay. The hotel was fine and served its purpose as a comfortable and relaxing stopover.
