Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Bogotá
Welcome to Bogotá! A driver will meet you at the airport and transport you to your hotel.
Colombia's biggest city has culture to spare, and its regional gastronomy has made it a global foodie destination. You'll have ample free time to explore this Andean capital on foot. Start with the cobblestone streets of the La Candelaria neighborhood, where trendy restaurants and colonial-era landmarks are located. You'll also find excellent museums, shopping, and street food ranging from empanadas to exotic fruits.
Day 2: Leticia to Maloka Huitoto
Today, you will catch an early flight from Bogotá to Leticia to begin your Amazonian adventure! Upon arrival, you will be picked up at Leticia’s airport and transferred to your accommodations for the night.
In the afternoon, you will visit a Maloka (a house used by Colombian aborigines) for your introduction to the Amazonian indigenous culture, where you will meet with a Shaman to learn about traditions, myths, legends, and rituals. This unique rainforest setting offers hiking trails where you can get up close to rare species of flora and fauna, and learn about medicinal plants and traditional crops.
Chat with a local specialist who can help organize your trip.
Day 3: Zacambu Reserve Adventure (Colombia & Peru)
Today, you'll start the adventure by hiking in the jungle towards San Pedro de Los Lagos Indigenous community and then kayak on the Yahuarcara and Victoria Regia lakes. Afterward, you'll have lunch in Flor de Loto followed by a three-hour boat ride along the Amazon River to Peru's Zacambu Reserve. Take note of the unique flora and fauna and wander around white sand beaches.
Day 4: Birdwatching Excursion - Return to Bogotá
You'll have some free time this morning to enjoy an outdoor activity, like birdwatching, before you fly back to Bogotá. When you arrive, enjoy the last evening of your trip exploring some of the capital's colorful colonial neighborhoods, as well as its sophisticated dining and nightlife scene.
Day 5: Depart Bogotá
It's now time to say farewell to Colombia! Enjoy your last hours in the capital with a leisurely lunch, a city stroll, and/or souvenir shopping. A representative will meet you at your hotel and drive you to the airport for your return flight home.
