Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive & Discover Bogotá
Welcome to Bogotá! Upon arrival, you will be picked up at El Dorado Airport by a private driver and transferred to your hotel. Colombia's capital is a diverse and multicultural city with a blend of modern and colonial architecture, infused with the green spaces of its many parks and the eastern mountains overlooking the sanctuaries of Monserrate and Guadalupe.
In the afternoon you'll explore more of the city with a guided walking tour starting in the historic neighborhood of La Candelaria. Whether you’re a fan of colonial architecture or an amateur photographer, this area is the ideal place to wander, spotting colorful facades and detailed wrought-ironwork along the way. Enjoy roaming its charming streets, stopping at sights such as the ornate, 19th-century Colón Theater and the historic San Carlos Palace. Nearby, you'll find Saint Ignatius of Loyola Church and the center of the city, Bolivar Square. Visit the city's renowned Gold Museum, which features the largest collection of Pre-Columbian gold artifacts in the world, before ending the day with a breathtaking cable car ride up Montserrate Hill.
Day 2: Welcome to the Amazon
Today you embark on the ultimate adventure and fly south towards Colombia's slice of the Amazon Rainforest.
When you arrive at the Leticia Airport, you'll transfer to a private boat and head down the Amazon River to reach your base for the next three nights: an eco-friendly lodge dedicated to conservation and working closely with local communities. The jungle location means there are some rustic touches—like the use of rainwater and limited hours for electricity—that add to the environmentally-conscious experience. You'll be welcomed with some delicious juice made from Amazonian fruits, and little ones can feed bananas to the resident monkeys.
After settling into your accommodations, it's time for an afternoon workshop. The whole family can create paintings made with tree bark paper and natural dyes from fruits and seeds, creating a memorable Amazon memento.

Day 3: Explore the Natural World
In the Amazon, everything has a spirit, and today you'll learn the tradition of greeting, thanking, and learning from the natural world around you.
This morning you'll start by greeting the jungle's mud, before learning to sculpt and shape it into pottery, singing to the clay's spirit so that the ceramic does not break.
In the afternoon, it's time to greet the forest, as you gear up with rubber boots and insect repellent and trek into the jungle. Here a traditional doctor will guide you through the Amazon's many wonders, as you learn to listen to nature as it shares its secrets. Afterward, you'll greet the water as you paddle through a spectacular jungle ravine.
Day 4: Dreams & Indigenous Communities
After sharing your jungle-inspired dreams over breakfast, it's time to set off on a journey down the Amazon River to reach the indigenous community of El Verge. Here you'll be welcomed for the day, as the children learn how their new friends play, what their parents do, and what life is like at home and school in the Amazon. After a morning filled with fun and games, sit down with the community for a delicious lunch, then learn some traditional dances and Tikuna songs.
In the afternoon, return to the lodge to make masks and tell stories around the fire.
Day 5: Depart the Amazon, Flight back to Bogotá
Your adventure comes to an end today, as you thank the Amazon for sharing her wonders and stories. The whole family will leave with cherished memories, new friends, and a new appreciation for the natural world.
After bidding the jungle farewell, you'll be transferred to Leticia to catch your return flight to Bogotá and your onward connection. Safe travels!
